I figured this was as good a place to ask as any. Has anyone here read it? Is it faithful to Montgomery's established Avonlea canon? Is it worth checking out?

haven't read it, but according to reviews on reddit people say it's a bit fast paced with lot of it's slice of life cut out, the novels are itself charming little fillers, so when people like mathew or ruby die it's much sadder, anne's decision are less frustrating and her moving to college and stuff is more earned for, it seems like you are cheering for your daughter, it is similarly paced as compared to the 90's anime, if you'd made a random poll someone might have already answered you, checking threads without polls in a buzz kill...
