So, that's also a possibility that Grandpa is still alive (hopefully).

Alright, this chapter was a bit weird and confusing. First of all, Jinwoo had to defeat Taeshik to gain his stealth skill, yet Suho just randomly gets a ring that not only lets him use stealth but also grants him extra stat points?

Putting stealth aside, how is Suho able to talk to Dojin while supposedly fighting Taeshik? That part really confused me. Taeshik just suddenly disappeared in the middle of the fight, completely out of sight. How and why did that happen?

On another note, it’s a cute little twist that Yoonho knows Ilhwan, but how exactly? In what context? He called him “captain”, but captain of what? And lastly, how was Taeshik a B-rank in the previous timeline but is now an upper A-rank? An explanation would really be appreciated.

Each person has an affinity, so they awaken similar powers and skills when they become hunters each time the planet gets saturated with mana.

Jinwoo got his skills from stones, Suho gets them from accessories. Both come from the System, it's just different packaging.

Taeshik was using Stealth, got rekt, turned into a shadow and an accessory immediately.

Tashik consumed a star fragment prior, it increased his powers from B-rank to A-rank, and Dojin can control him and see/hear everything through him. Beru also called him an Itarim Apostle last chapter.

This was also discussed previously 2 chapters ago, but his grandpa was saving people as his job. From the original series we know both Ilhwan and Yoonho were firefighters. In real life firefighters and other such people usually know each other because they have to work together from time to time.

Oh, that’s why I didn’t notice it. Suho must have one-shotted him instantly for me not to even realize. That means he’s a lot stronger than his father was when he fought Taeshik with Joohee, if Suho could take him down that quickly and easily.

Tashik consumed a star fragment prior, it increased his powers from B-rank to A-rank, and Dojin can control him and see/hear everything through him.

Gotcha. I didn’t notice him consuming a star fragment. That must mean Suho is basically S-rank now, if he’s able to take down upper A-ranks that easily. Not sure how I missed all that while reading, guess I was going through it too fast.

Yeah, I noticed the flashback when Yoonho was talking to Ilhwan, but I didn’t realize it was him at first since he looked so different. I’m not even sure if they mentioned that they were firefighters before the apocalypse, but if so, then yeah, that makes sense.

It was mentioned. You can rewatch/reread if you're forgetting lots of details.

You're probably right. It's just that my summer vacation only has about a week left, so I've been trying to watch as much anime and read as much manga as possible. As a result, my memory is gradually getting obliterated day by day from mixing everything together. You can check my profile to confirm.
