From what I know, they are still trying to get more content in the novel for it to be smoothly adapted into an anime.
They did focus on the 2 movies for Progressive. No actual news since then.

It's been 5 years since the last season, not a decade.
The next arc is still going in the novels, so they're probably only waiting for a green light.
The franchise is way too popular to just stop getting an anime adaptation.

It is not impossible, but the curse of LN anime is kicking in.. Thou shalt not get a complete LN anime.. The universe would collapse it did happen.

i only hope that if it does happen, that koyama yasumasa has nothing to do with it. Give him solo leveling and nothing else please A-1. That show already feels like a lobotomy, so if you add his crusty sound effects to it nothing will be lost (or gained but I don't care).

It's like dubstep raped autism and koyama yasumasa happened.

As others have said, I believe it will eventually continue but they are probably waiting for the current arc to conclude or progress more.
