this surprised me with how 'fast' the 2nd Season 'OFFICAL' month popped up.
S1 ended 29 March 2023, S2 first announcement was 29 October 2023 so 7 months. that means if S2 pops up around the ending of October 2025 that would be a 2-year 7-month gap between final episode and first episode of each Season. MAPPA has not been sitting on their hands these past 2 years.
Zombieland Saga movie is set to come out 24 OCT 2025... same month.
Chainsaw Man movie will be 19 SEP 2025... the month before.
The Rose of Versailles movie 31 JAN 2025.
Zenshu TV ran from 5 JAN-23 MAR 2025.
Dorohedro S2 is supposed to come out sometime in 2025.
then there are about 14 other 'projects' in-between 'Isekai Glamping S1' ending and 'Zenshu/Rose/Dorohedro S2'. that's a LOT of work for 2 years...
@KiliianSleipnir Don't forget that "MAPPA" isn't just one singular building with a bunch of animators, they have multiple "separate" teams or groups that produce anime. Which is to say that what ACTUALLY matters is looking at what the animators/staff that are working on this worked on last to get a better idea of how hard they're actually working. From what I've seen usually a studio's team can do about 1-2 anime per year depending on the number of episodes and the "budget" or rather animation complexity the production requires.
Just as an example, Frieren S2 is releasing 2 years and 3 months after S1, it hasn't aired yet but I'd assume the same team or staff at madhouse that worked on S1 is doing S2, and that S2 will have about the same number of episodes as S1, so 24ish. As far as I know most of the staff working on Frieren haven't done too much since S1 ended so that time frame generally makes sense if you get the meaning.
There's definitely also the factor of outsourcing production and such, but that's a whole other matter, generally speaking it's pretty hard to figure out exactly how hard or how much they've been working at MAPPA as the staff that work on each project can vary a LOT depending on a lot of things. If I had guess they're probably at minimum working 5 days a week from probably like 6-7am to 7-8pm and often doing (hopefully paid) overtime and such to get things done on time. Either way it's pretty much a given that the staff at MAPPA get worked hard but as for how much they actually make within a year or two is a much harder question to answer. |

I like to watch some anime, I like to talk about some anime, I dislike wars over some anime, but more than anything I love to live my life, anime is an enjoyable and entertaining addition onto my life but it's not my whole life. |
