Just wanted to know if there are any updates on season 2 as it has been so many days.

Also will they change this animation quality? Because it feels like mappa is killing one good series which has far more potential than demon slayer but this animation quality and action sequence kills it off.
Even though in manga it’s really great and top notch.
Let us hope mappa fix that and treat it as jjk or csm.
Atleast they should care about this series.
I don’t want this series to end up like Tokyo ghoul.

the animation producer is the same as season 1 here https://myanimelist.net/people/64969/Wataru_Kawagoe

so i doubt there will be improvements

remember animation producers are by default responsible for gathering a talented staff especially the main staff and did season 1 have a talented staff given the production quality it has? nah

In terms of quality, it's supposed to be like the rest of Mappa's works

Well i guess even with the same producers they can increase the animation quality and budget but it depends on them and sales.

I don’t think so because look at csm jjk and even aot (which increased it’s quality after every single season in mappa)
Hell’s paradise is no way close. The movements and action sequence are the most lacking even tho it’s heavily action focused series too.

The animation wasn't really the best in S1, but it's definitely watchable
I think as long as it isn't like Uzumaki I'll still like it

Season 1 had a fair share of people more than capable of delivering solid work. Kaoru Makita, Kazuki Akane, Shigeyuki Miya, Tetsuya Watano, Jun Shishido, Teruyuki Oomine, Tokio Igarashi, Satoshi Iwataki (RIP), Akiko Kudo, to name a few. The problem was not just Kawagoe being incapable of gathering a good team, or said team being terrible at their job, but major scheduling problems and staff overlap with other projects.

It would never reach CSM levels, but at least it should've been on Dororo or AOT level. Which sounds more plausible for the sefond season now that AOT is over.

The bar is really high for you lot, like we have seen stinkers that are worse than the season one animation (not gonna call anyone out cause they know what they did). Season one animation is solid with the only problem is the pacing imo, so i rather have a more coherent story pacing rather than an improvement to the animation

Just as ass as Season 1, MAPPA hasn’t changed anything for it to be better

I feel like this adaptation is on the same limbo that the Dorohedoro's second season.
Mappa just busy with other projects and don't want to work on this for the moment.

I remember being impressed by the first season's animation production with one minor exception to a single scene. It's the one when the good guys have to retreat after one of them sacrifices himself for their retreat, but the young character is mad about it. Probably a shit summary of the actual scene, but yea. I expect season 2 will go just as well in terms of production quality.

I personally would be more concerned for the working conditions of the animators who are making it. Mappa has its reputation for a reason.

I have a genuine question. Why does it seem like the only two things the anime community as a whole talk about with Shounen is “animation” and “cg”? I’m being for real because I don’t even pay attention to that stuff unless it’s absolutely god awful and look like a college intern’s 3D slide show project.

Is this as big a deal as many make it out to be, or is there a factor of elitism at play?

honestly I kinda agree with you I only give it attention if it's that bad I think people just like to complain about it that's all 🤷

Wataru Kawagoe was also the animation producer of God of Highschool and Attack on Titan part 2&3. Hells Paradise was bad due to the schedule being weak and not because of the people working

S1 had Kazuki Akane, Shingo Yamashita's friend and the director of Birdy Mighty Decode. No way it was lacking in talent. The schedule was simply too hellish and they didn't have a director like Gosso to bring in stupid amount of animators.. Ah quoted wrong comment. Sorry

Can't we expect good animation from an animated show? if you want to read, the manga exists.

Just gotta hope it gets better in this season. This is probably the worst animated project from Mappa.

What?
I thought it looked pretty good.

Comparing it with CSM, aka the Michael Jordan of Animation, seems a bit unfair xD
