When I was on
I know Oda doesn't like to kill people, unless it progresses the story, but when you kill people in a way that you don't see their body, after like 6k chapters of people just being beaten up, then you can't expect there to be some emotional thing going on.

I hear ya, but this is not gundam, this is one piece. Shonen have a tendency to not to kill characters because of popularity polls. Its also a struggle as an author to kill a major character to prevent backlash from the community because a certain fandom becomes so connected to a specific character in a shonen series, that being said though, I do think in the final saga we are going to see much more death because the apparent looming catastrophy that will engulf the world is a very real conflict and tragedy and sacrifices need to be shown, in order to realistically protray the atrocities of war. I think oda knows this and understands that he can't hold back anymore.
