| Castle of Cagliostro was the first I saw (though later I found out that the Lupin in that one was a touch more noble than the ordinary one). The rest I watched as they came to me. As a matter of fact, I'm currently working my way through a bunch of the movies that I got hold of. I think so far, my favorite one is Farewell to Nostradamus. It had some really nice Lupin x Fujiko scenes that I liked. I like them all though. Lupin makes me laugh. He's such a likeable scoundrel. |

| The nice thing about the Lupin franchise is that it's non-canon. Essentially, what happens in one episode or special is pretty much guaranteed NOT to carry over into another. I think the only exceptions are episodes that are more than one episode per arc and then the green jacket "The Man They Call a Magician" and the later "Return of Pycal." I think the only thing you really need to know is that Lupin is the world's greatest thief, has the nemesis Zenigata, the love interest slash frequent betrayer Fujiko, and "team mates" Jigen and Goemon. What you don't see between the lines is that they're not always together, taking frequent breaks from thievery, and sometimes they're on opposite sides for whatever reason. Just watch it all in air order, or start with the original pilot and first few episodes of the green jacket series (first series/season) for back story. |
