So far, the way the item box skill works seems to allow the user to instantly store anything in their field vision (including people) for an indefinite amount of time and make then appear whenever thay want, and the spawn range also seems to be pretty big. That makes this skill way more fit for both survival and combat. For first, survival the obvious unlimited storage, for combat, the user can simply make enemy weapons disappear or the enemy altogether, also in the unfortunate event they get captured they can store the cuffs, or cell bars into the inventory and just leave or smth, basically there is no way for anyone to realistically restarin them, also because of the way everyone perceives kaoru as a infinite resource spammer and her miracles no one will ever attempt to kill her in the first place, because they are too greedy and want that power for themselves. So just by having itrm box around, kaoru is basically invincible.

Potions are definitely nice too, and extremly versatile and kinda the reason most of people want kaoru on their side (mostly for healing though), but again, the super cheat op skill is definitely the item box

Also when potions can be used both defensively and offensively too they are much more struggle, and against kaoru ideology as she doesnt want to hurt people, which item box easily achieves, also if she ever gets captured and incapacitated, like having her cuffed there is no safe way to use the potions to free herself, while item box can just pop any obstacle with no effort. Honestly it's a shame she doesn't realize just how op that skill is

I dunno about the LN, but no, no it isn't. Because the potions come in any container she can imagine - including item boxes if she desires. The item box is powerful, but the potion ability with potions that give any effect make her a literal deity and she's also too dumb to utilize them correctly.

It would be absolutely nothing to for her to basically give herself literal god magic with a single potion, teleport anywhere, turn invisible, fly, stasis anything in time, become impenetrable and invincible, resistant to any form of damage or poison, have radar sense magic granted, mark anyone hostile to her on the entire planet. Her entire "secret organization" is also completely unnecessary since she could just seed an aerosol healing into the clouds and rain it upon the entire planet to heal whoever meets the healing conditions she desires etc... The potions basically allow her to do everything the item box itself allows and more - they're basically infinite power and she can even use the potions to nullify any and all of these and could theoretically make magical tiny homing capsules for them. The item box is powerful but it's not unlimited power. The potions with any affect and the ability to make infinite variations of "containers" for them ala the sword means she can literally do anything she wanted in the world - including making a sleep or confusion potion that could spray a billion person army - or instantly and teleport each one back to their family while causing them to forget about the war they were in.

So again, no, she's just too dumb to use them correctly and if you're judging it by only what she does in the show itself rather than what they're said to do and what they've been shown to be able to do - no. FFS, she could seed the planet using a magical potion container that creates infinite potions that make everyone on the planet be effectively "fed" for eternity... that is, she could instantly solve hunger. Assuming she so inclined to intervene in their world to that degree. The super cheat item is by FAR potions, which again could literally reproduce infinite indestructible self destructing containers that attach themselves to every single person in the world. The item box can't reproduce item boxes. The potions, can literally give functionally dynamic item boxes to anyone she desires with programmed conditions.

>there is no safe way to use the potions to free herself

Again, there's a near infinite variety of ways to pull it off with a myriad of potion effects that neither need to be consumed or containers that could do it and the potions themselves need be nothing more than just water even. It's already also shown that the potions don't need to be consumed to be used. The potion skill literally makes her impossible to even capture when properly utilized their effects don't even need to be instantaneous.
