it was excellent. the shot of Jogo's face after crushing those two skyscrapers is one of my faves in the series.

this season's fights have been so great. Mahito vs Mechamaru, Gojo vs Toji, Geto vs Toji, Fushiguro vs Toji, Choso vs Yuji, Gojo vs The Disaster Curses, Toji vs Dagon (damn Toji putting in work) and now Sukuna vs Jogo. All great, all in different ways.

The episode was incredible but, no, I wasn’t a fan of the style change. Loved the core elements of the glass melting mid air and the buildings becoming globs. The color schemes were fantastic. That being said, it felt more like an incomplete product. A rough sketch of something that would’ve blown most anime this season out of the water.

the fight was so fast, in the manga when we read it looks like slow. Some details are missing. the fight animation can be changed I think.

yes, 100 times yes. the cut to Jogo’s face as he’s crushing those buildings? the mid-fight Sukuna jumpscare? that shit was excellent

incredibly fun episode. (not gonna compare it to the animation in the rest of the season, that’s its own thing that i also love)

I loved it, it added to the chaotic nature of both Sukuna and Jogo. As well as how the Shibuya Incident is now getting more messier than ever before. 10/10 for me 🔥

Huge fan of it, made it feel like I was watching a movie instead of another regular Jujutsu episode. And the sometimes darker minimalistic style sets Sukuna apart from any other character so far making him look like the most dangerous strongest threat in the whole show as he should. However I don't feel like this style should be the norm going forward it only feels right for this style to be present in big boss fights where Sukuna is the main foe.

Hell fucking yeah, it was amazing and I love it when animators just go crazy and creative like that. It reminded me of the Mob Psycho fights. We had two awesome fights in a single episode, it was the best one so far along with Gojo vs Toji 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Art and compositing were trash regardless of "muh artistic freedom" or not. The storyboards and the content adapted were good enough to carry the episode as the best Shibuya episode so far (props to Tsuchigami for creating an actually dynamic Shibuya episode), but it had the potential to be much better than what it was.

S1's consistent art and OST worked in tandem to effectively create a youthful but dark vibe for the series. In comparison, Shibuya is generic and undeniably has a weaker identity. Then you also have Mob Psycho's offbeat aesthetics thrown in that don't fit JJK's heavy tones.

they style of shadows used throughout the episode is called kagenashi. its essentially the lack of shadows on the characters. a creative choice made by the director himself

@ANTITHE5IS Saying that this episode had "trash compositing" but then praising S1 in the same breath is one of the funniest things I've read.

@Oongbuh "Funniest" Stop lying, you're malding lol.

Only one of them never had MS Paint characters and throughout the entirety of an episode at that to amplify said bad compositing.

it was amazing, the fact it wasnt pverly detailed in every frame actually made it feel quicker and engaging
you rly get the feeling that from an outside pov two godlike creatures clashed, destroyed everything around and it was over in an instance

@TsukuyomiREKT I think the latest episode is still a top 3 episode in S2. But both the Gojo vs Toji episodes looked better because they had comparable animation with far superior art and compositing.

If you prefer MS Paint characters for an extra bit of movement sometimes because you're one of those outspoken sakuga meatheads like my obsessed friend Oongbuh, more power to you. There's no need to pretend like you have any visual taste and any right to comment on art, though. For all the normal people's sake.

Yes I like Kagenashi style in general. It creates nuanced character acting and I just generally like more simple drawings. It just looks more pleasing to my eye when everything is in motion(super smooth).

@ANTITHE5IS They were right tho, you should check your eyes
The entire eps of JJK filled with a weird filter that ruined the color palletes and CGI backgrounds, sometimes they're look shiny (not in a good way obviously). That weird filter also causing the 2D animation and 3D environment doesn't look blend

It was good but tbh i just preferred the previous artstyle much much more. The switch was so sudden i would say it would ve better if it didn't change.

As an artis myself... No, unfortunetly I'm really disapointed with the style. I know this animation took lots of work but it was... well, the quality was lower then most of the graphic students I know and that's sad. I understand that it was bigger problem (with all trash behavour of supervasors of MAPPA studio), but its defo not somethin I would admire.
