| I know DMC game fans might not be quite thrilled by this adaptation but I'm actually looking forward for this. I tried the first DMC game on PS2 but didn't like the gameplay and the mission format, ended up dropping it around mission 4 or so. I always wanted to get into DMC (I'm a fan of other Capcom games and DMC seems so cool) but the anime by Madhouse apparently isn't remotely similar to the games. Hope this adaptation is decent enough so that I and others who suck at action games can enjoy the story and aesthetics lol. |

It's Asian, so I wonder if MAL will consider it Anime haha Yeah, it's literally the same studio that did The Boondocks Season 4, Black Dynamite, and Avatar. I believe Boondocks Season 1-3 were by another Korean studio. They might, in order compete with others like Anilist. I personally don't want them to because I want this to be about anime as we've come to understand it and not just cartoons. Anime in Japan does just mean cartoon so The Simpsons would be called "anime". It's similar to sake which is alcohol or wine and not specifically rice wine from Japan. But then there is a way that these terms have come to be known as "cartoons" from Japan or "wine" from Japan made with rice or plums. They transcended the cultural zeitgeist. I think it's easier to maintain it must be by a Japanese studio because the alternative will leave you potentially open to all animation. |
