Nearly finished with the anime. Haruhi is a unique and likable girl. Is the manga worth checking?

Yeah it definitely is, the manga goes more in depth then the anime characters are fleshed out and the story continues. Definitely read it for a more complete experience

Completely agree with this :) If you liked the anime,of course. You’ll start by rereading what you’ve seen in the anime but once you are passed that the story really grows and so do the characters. Plus it’s not too long of a series. Highly recommend it!
