For me, the show right now is just what I expected it to be when I first read the synopsis, and that is "nothing special". Tbh, I didn't even thought about watching it, but some reliable sources told me to, and I didn't have much animes on my list for this season. The trailer was the final incentive to watch it. And the first episode was simply amazing. But I think it was pretty obvious that as the story progresses the studio could not maintain, or even justify the quality. And the MC himself already gave us everything he could give in terms of "depthness". So I don't think it "fell off", it just is what it is, and maybe you had your expectations too high for a show that literally is about "a guy who doesn't have to go to work anymore because of the apocalypse".

Yes but most anime aren't as good as their first few episodes, nothing new here. I still like it, we'll see if my opinion won't change again at the end.

I didn't watch it while it aired so for me it fell off, but not hype wise but story wise
