I just want to point out how seamless the art style was during my watch of the first 2 episodes despite the studio change.

Even knowing that fact beforehand, I just thought JC staff animated it when watching

Konosuba always had one of the best animation I have ever seen.

JC Staff only did the movie, S1/S2 were done by Studio Deen, but yeah, character design and overall artstyle seem very consistent.

Because animators are tracing panels directly from LN whenever they can. That is very common practice.

It's fine, but doesn't quite match up to the previous seasons.

you're gonna have to wait for them to return in season 3, this is only a side story taking place a year before the main story

There’s a error in the animation on episode 2 lol.

I kinda prefer the season 1/2 animation.

But let’s talk about that when the whole thing is aired hehe.

Season 1 and (mainly) Season 2 had a inconsistent animation style. Even the movie was a bit inconsistent.

Now it seems it got a decent studio, so the staff, that was already good, can do a better job.

It is ok, but I prefer the more dynamic style from s1 and s2.  The movie felt very high budget.  This series is a lot more standard in animation.

I feel like the inconsistent, always off-model style that the anime had before this spin off was perfect and fit the vibe the series way better. On-model isn't inherently better than off-model, Konosuba is one of the best examples of that.

That being said, I found the 1st episode way more on-model. Episode 2 was pretty good when it came to being off-model when it needed to, I liked it much better.

I mean the characters proportions like this:

Those low budget expressions are necessary no matter the studio.

yeah, I know what you meant. Every hilariously off-model shot in S1-movie are great. I understand why some people wouldn't like it, but I really feel like there's nothing more Konosuba than it.
