It is not officially announced but people are assuming there will be 2 large eps, one releases on March 3rd and the other one on sometime in 2023.

Lets assume they will not go with any original ending for the anime.

What do you guys think how long should be these 2 eps to completely adapt the remaining chapters?

At what point in the manga, the 1st ep/part (on March 3rd) will end?

What would you guys prefered more,
2 large eps  or  more normal eps  or  a movie?

I would personally prefer a MOVIE because it would be fun to watch aot in theatres.

1.5 hour? nah, 40 min per episode max. If they could animate 3 hours then they would have just released it as a movie rather than making tv episodes.

I don't think that they will rush content after that they adapted 1,1 chapters for episode in part 2(slowest pacing for Aot)

I'm guessing the first ep is gonna be around 45-50 minutes and the other one around an hour. Should be less than 2 hours for both.

From what manga readers have been saying: 8 chapters so about 8 episodes. If these special episodes will be extended (aka. roughly a movie duration), then I am guessing 2 hours per episode, give an take 20 minutes.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

if they wanted a movie duration they would've just made a movie. Expect everything to be wrapped under 2 hrs( extra 30 min give or take)

I was convinced they were going to announce a movie towards the end of s4 part 2. When they announced a part 3 it shocked me

If I had to guess, They are going to do 8-10 episodes of the standard 20-25 minutes per episode.

They are going to release 4-5 episodes in March

And then they will release 4-5 episodes later this 2023

If they do this, then you can definitely tell that this was just a move to make more money, because 10 episodes can be released all together in one season (Fall 2023, to delay it till the end).

I just dont think that MAPPA will release movie-length episodes for TV/online, instead of releasing it in the cinema-theater; it just wouldnt make any business sense.

This is just a business decision to try to make and sell more discs, more advertisements, keep AOT buzz alive, and make more money. This has NOTHING to do with workload

Nope. Did you even read the announcement they posted? They said that they planned to broadcast all of part 3 but they didn't expect such a large workload, so they split part 3 into 2. This is not even remotely close to a business decision. If it was, then Kodansha and the other companies in the production committee would've said no to a split season. The staff themselves asked them for more time and the committee said yes.

I heard from a youtube video that the animation has 900 frames, which is impossible for a 23 minute episode.

If it adapted 1.5 chapters an episode than it would be 2 hours and 30 minutes(split over 2 broadcasts of course)

Yep. Later in February there will be a TV program that will show the production of this part, and in the trailer of the aforementioned program we saw a cut frame numbered 934 (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FmrTqhZacAYHu1Y?format=jpg&name=360x360). A normal episode should have 300-350.

More than likely is gonna be 2 hours for the whole thing, which is a shame I was hoping the treatment that Part 2 got.

These must be around the beginning of the battle, meaning part 1 could even reach parts of ch 135.

If they had gone with an episodic format, then I don’t think chapters 133-136 would have benefited from being one episode each.

Assuming the first special adapts chapters 131-134, I believe it will probably be around 50-60 minutes, especially if it really does have over 934 animation cuts. If they want to flesh out the ending a little more, then I think 80-90 minutes would be ideal for the second special.

Part 2 only had the 1 chapter treatment with heavy dialogue chapters, the battle in shingashina was about 1.3, and they used like 2 min of each ep to do recaps so I magine chapters 134 to 136 could be done well in 40 min.
