He’s always said he doesn't like doing the same thing twice, so I would bet he’d want to do something entirely or at least largely new.

In the stage play adaptations the difference between YoRHa Ver1.1 and Ver1.1a was largely character genders. Wonder if this will apply in any way to the anime.

I am pretty sure the anime is going to start a whole new wa e of hype for Neir. I can’t imagine he would just make a typical copy and paste adaptation of Neir’s story.

Yeah, it’d be difficult to adapt a story like Nier Automata entirely, plus, Yoko Taro said in an interview that it’d be different to the game. (Apologies for not providing the link but it is what it is). I can probably guess that the main difference would be the thoughts of the characters and probably the main endings, I doubt we’ll be seeing Adam and Eve in the same light as the anime but who knows, I trust Yoko Taro and it’ll stun me regardless.

the biggest issue facing the story is that Ending E cannot be done in anime format, unless they do something really bonkers like turn the Nicovideo comments into a game of Brick Break or something. They can give it the Concert Script ending, I guess, but that wouldn't have the same impact as playing through the end yourself.

I feel like Yoko Taro is going to do *something* though, and we won't really know what that something is until the very end of the first half of the total episode count, as that's roughly when the twist happens in a Japanese 4-act structure.
