| Saying that anime is corrupting peoples minds is absurd. If you just take it for what it is, anime is entertainment. Its literally the same as if I were to watch a netflix show instead. Btw I dont know if you know this but anime isnt made for the western audience. The target audience is japanese youth. Omg who would have thought!?! Also it is totally ok for people of all ages in japan to read manga and watch anime. Take One Piece for example. There are full grown adults reading issues of Shounen jump and probably watching the episodes when they air on TV. Also it depends on the genre of anime that you watch. If you watch hentai or yaoi then maybe that could be considered corruption by some since it follows more progressive ideas rather than more traditional ones. Other than that, I dont see any problems with watching anime. For some, anime creates childhood memories. When I was a kid back in 2013, I was introduced to fairytail by just searching on the internet. At that time I was going through some tough times due to personal issues. I had no idea what it was but I was curious. After finishing that series, that lead me to discover other anime shows and movies. I am really glad that I discovered anime. It helped me cope with my depression at a young age. |
