I'm hoping that this won't be like Arslan Senki where the MC is weak and the other characters shines more, but I guess it is, and it's even more ANNOYING. Why is Luke like that? He realize his mistakes and confusions at some point but still goes the wrong way (evident on last scene on episode 5). And the way he shows his attitude to others is p*ssing me off.

Can someone tell me that he will improve OVERALL in the next episodes, even if it takes more than half of the series? Because if not, I'm afraid that I will drop this.

He definitely improves. Tales of the Abyss is big on the character development. All the characters develop really well, especially Luke. He even became one of my favorite protagonists ever after his development.

i really liked his development in the game. like the other person said he becomes a really great protagonist.

I do think that is the reason is because you have hours of time to see him developed. I didn't like the anime as much despite it being one of my favorite jrpgs ever created and it mostly might be because the episodic nature just didn't cover enough of the original source material.

It's been several years since I watched this but I recall being in a similar position of hating the MC and wanting to drop, can't recall when but eventually it really improved and I ended up enjoying it immensely

Thanks for all the replies! It's just what y'all said he improved after his rough start, and I ended up finishing the whole series in half a day. It had an good ol ending too so glad that I didn't drop it :)

I’m sorry I can’t stand the MC and the dull plot. Stopping 1/2 way through E6. If it were 12-13 episodes I’d continue and hope for the best, but 26? Nope
