This one or 77 version.

The 77 version is closer to the original novel as Remi is a boy in that version. And it has 51 episodes, but it's from 1977, and it's making me hesitant. Has anyone checked out both versions? Which one is better regardless it is close to the source material or not?

I've only seen this one it's definitely different than the 77 one and the book that it's based off of but it's still pretty good

The 77 version easily. It looks much better despite being older.

This version even got cancelled due to low ratings and put a stop to the production of WMT shows (until 10 years later when they made a few more).
