Does every love live have basically the same plot? (Spoilers for this season)

I really like love live and i’ve seen 3 love live’s now but doesn’t it always happen that they lose at the end of season 1 then in season 2 they win? Not complaining though, this might be my favorite love live season.

Kind of yeah. Basic premise for School Idol Project, Sunshine and Superstar are the same. But we do get completely different characters with completely different personalities, motivations, circumstances, etc. Also completely different locations, songs, etc as well.

But yeah they share a lot of things together, like how the school comes together to help them all, but its always fun to see references from an older show.

While its feels samey but it has enough differences to be its own thing.

Also Nijigasaki is the only exception. It has a completely different premise and focuses on solo idols, also probably has the best production values.

As for them not winning, it completely makes sense. They are still newbies while Sunny Passion are near professionals with much more stage experience.

Kind of yes. SIP, Sunshine, and Superstar got a lot of similar elements in their anime. The differences are the details in each series, characters, and motivation, something like that. At least, there doesn't have any saving school plot in the Superstar.
Nijigasaki is different from the others with the soloing concept. However, we also don't know yet about what will happen in their 2nd season.

They are losing on the first try is not that unusual. All of them are newbies who compete with the ones with more experience. If they can win on their first try, that's weird.

Well it'll feel that way mainly because if they won it in the first season, there wouldn't really be a need for a second season. They'd just move on to the next group of gals wanting to push for LL. If they made it different, they could've just kept the growth going, and then start the new season with the qualifiers.

Also not forgetting the same used plot point of 'School is in need somehow' Which in this series, wasn't needed, and shouldn't have been part of the overall series. It's why I do really like Nijigasaki, because it didn't have that plotline. Superstar didn't need it, it felt as if it was thrown in last minute to have an extra bit of plot, when really the next few episodes after, worked really well, and hit many emotions, that really didn't need the extra idea of 'school needs help.'

Yea. Kinda. Every love live has the same plot but the thing I see is that the problems they face are very different. And that it kinda has a "dark side" to it. That dark side of love live is soo different but they lead to the same result.kinda like they trying to say that doing what you love can help you more that you think it can. Sorry for the whole story I know you didn't ask for this.

It kind of does. I know Love Live will never be "dark" or show the dark sides of the idol industry, but that's okay. The formula and characters are cute and comforting. The VAs are always fabulous as well.

I could do without any save the school plots in the future though. I don't care about the schools. Please. Thank god Nijigasaki's school looks high-tech and without any population issues lmao
