Why 12 episodes instead of the usual 13?

Well, that, previous LLs always had 13 chapters, so I'm wondering why this one's gonna be just 12.

Probably because it airing at eNHK channel, need to synchronized with their time slot because all other love live series before this airing at Tokyo-MX.

Less character require less character development I think, in previous love live, there are 9 members, and that requires a lot of character development episodes, in love live and love live sunshine either season 1 and season 2 has some character development episodes, and in love live nijigasaki all character got their development in season 1, and that's made the real story to lack developing, and now love live superstar has only 5 member, which give the story more rooms for developing, as we seen until episode 5 only 3 member has been officially got their development episode, and the other 2 episodes is developing the story itself

Yeah I thought that too, since there's less characters, less episodes. But is there a difference if it's just 1 episode less lol
