THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER.

Overall, reminiscent of volume 2 of the original series, though I found this volume to be fairly lackluster compared to that volume.

Within this volumes we had the rating game between Sairaorg and Shooting Star + Issei vs Rias.

Now for the Azazel Cup we have Indra, Sairaorg, Issei and Belial pushing into the quarter finals which leads to;
- Indra vs Sairaorg
- Issei vs Belial

And we have to wait and see on the results for the following battles to see who progresses forward into the quarter finals as well;
- Cao Cao vs Surtr
- Typhon vs Phoenix
- Slash/Dog vs Dulio
- Vali vs Sun Wukung

For next volume we're getting another Kyoto arc (vol 9) so expect to see some more of Kunou and Yasaka, plus a new Hero Faction...

This was a good volume. Maybe slightly below expectations given this volume was one of my most anticipated volumes since I've been wanting to see Issei and Rias face off in a Rating Game ever since Issei was progressing towards High-Class Devil territory and servants who were all in one team before faced off in a war now that they've been split between Issei and Rias. It definitely felt a lot shorter than expected, especially the Issei-Kiba and Issei-Rias battles. But at the same time, it was cool seeing Issei grow enough to actually outplay both of them without compromising himself too much to damage and was fearless to take down everyone since it'd be worse if he was scared of defeating his enemy, even if it was his friends and fiancees. Wish Ingvild got more involvement since I really liked her from the previous volume but given how Grayfia's left the team now after her loss and confrontation with Rias and focusing on being with her kid, there's a spot open for a Queen now for future games.

First re-read of Shin volume 2.

This volume certainly was good. Ise vs Rias started out dramatically as Rias took the initiative and attacked Ise before they did anything. Thankfully, Ise's team managed to turn things around by keeping at bay Strada and Crom Cruach. Ise used a technique that even Rias couldn't believe to wipe her and Gasper out to win the game. Ise vs Kiba was also a nobly fought battle between two best friends.

Next game for Ise is against Diehauser. Off to Kyoto next volume.
