Did they really? I think they just went into hiding 'cause of debts but I do remember this other manga where supposedly this whole cult would commit suicide in a place unbeknownst to other people to go to that "promised land" Idk. It's either that or the hiding from people they're indebted to.

To me it means that people take different paths in their lives. The contrasting ideas of these 2 main characters. The boy is what you would consider as "normal", trying to get the best out of his life by working hard, while the girl, is someone who is completely submerged in a religion and her blind obedience towards those beliefs has probably led to her becoming what you would consider as "crazy".

It shows that there are different types of people in this world and some can even go to extreme measures such as converting into a small religious cult which is completely ridiculous in my opinion.

This one-shot has explored something that is a controversial matter in our world. Does religion have to exist? To some extent, yes. People need to be spiritually healthy. That's what I think as an atheist. No offense intended to any religious people. I've experienced religion myself, going to a religious school (Roman Catholic) but I just couldn't stand believing in what they taught me in RE. There was also some family influence as well (my whole family are atheists) so yeah...

I honestly think that she was deluding herself into believing what she knew to be a sham of a religion as a coping mechanism, and was fully aware of her families situation. People will choose to believe in anything, even if they know it isn't true, as a way to give themselves hope.
