| Hello guys, The last couple of days I've been in the mood for an anime that will make me shred some tears. (Not in terms of laughter or because it's just that bad, but because of it being incredibly sad) Any recommendations? Which anime made you cry? |

| Gintama.. but you have to watch up to the arcs the sad arcs which don't happen often but after getting attached to characters it'll get to you. I know there are others but I'll have to remember some of my experiences |

| Kimi ga Nozomu Eien 5 Centimeters per Second H2O Footprints in the sand True Tears Myself; Yourself I can't guarantee that the last 2 ones will make you cry but they are also dramatic. And also you can try Angel Beats as the others said. But just the last scene will make you cry I think. It's isn't a fully emotional drama anime. |

| I see that you haven't watched Evangelion and Golden Time. Evangelion has got 4 movies but the 4'th isn't released yet. It is Action/Mecha/Sci-Fi but I cried a bunch because the 2nd movie was just way too sad and it was one of the most epic anime that I've seen! Golden Time is a completely different anime and it is Comedy/Romance/Drama. It is extremely good with a lot of plot twists and a serious romance (as in that they are in a relationship), and one of the main characters past is very sad as well. Please don't just ignore evangelion because of the genre because it's EXTREMELY good and you will 100% surely cry at least once during the 2nd movie of it! |
| These are the only anime to get me on the verge of tears (and one did make me sob a bit) Clannad/ Clannad: After Story Kanon (2006) Ef: a tale of memories Angel Beats (i personally dont think its as sad or emotional as the above three but there was one episode that really got to me....i think its episode 3) Kimi ni Todoke (only certain parts as its pretty lighthearted) Kobato (near the end) Elfen Lied (to this day i find myself still thinking about episodes 9-10) |
