Haven't read the book, but I plan to. The manga is way better than the movie. The ending of the movie was so anti climactic. And the flashbacks were cool, explaining a lot of the characters well; however, they were sometimes a little excessive or redundant.

@Wooly;

I don't think the book is similar at all to the manga, the manga is far more drawn out first of all because it's added so many extra flashbacks and crap. Also, a lot of the death scenes are completely different and the ending is different as well. Personally, I think that the manga is the weakest of the whole lot, I liked the movies so much better even with all the obvious differences though the book is by far the best in my opinion.

I have a friend who read the manga and got the book as a present a week ago, and I think she likes the book better, despite her attachment to the manga.

wow. I just got this book two days ago and I'm HOOKED!!! Glad there's an awesome fan club for it ;) **Would love to talk to anyone about the book, so PM me!**

The movies are pretty good but they divert from the book fairly early on and stay diverted throughout. If you like the idea of Battle Royale and extremely violent movies, then they are both worth the watch. If you are looking for an almost exact reinterpretation of the book, then pass them up.

Just finished reading this. Best goddamn book ever.

Is the film version any good?

@Shaolin Robiero:
I failed to mention Grappler Baki simply becuase I haven't seen it. (And neither has anyone in the club right now.) Also, I heard from several people that it was shit and to not watch it, but I'll add it to the relations list since you mentioned it.

YoungVagabond | Dec 10, 2008 2:46 AM
How do you create a "Real Man Club" and fail to mention Grappler Baki? That's failure right there, son.

Although living in Azerbaijan is moderately worthy of respect.

*Slowly Raises Hand*
I can volunteer, I have been admining for the Real Man Club for the better part of six months so I've got a little experience. So if you really need help, I'm more than willing.

Mitsukai_Tsubasa | Dec 9, 2008 3:04 PM
I'm looking for admins at the moment - any volunteers, in particular those with experience?
