Oh, and I already submitted it to MAL.

YoungVagabond | Sep 20, 2010 2:01 AM
Read the weekly one-shot.

It caught me by surprise; I wasn't expecting much, but the story had less to do with shoujo anything, and more with remembering those who are gone, whether to some other location on the Earth, or to its center.

It touched on some good, real emotions, and had a simple, appropriate ending.

Granted, I found the idea that a 14 year-old guy would reject a decently attractive female best friend absurd, but otherwise, it was a good manga.

Props to katsup for finding it.

Hm, I wonder if one of us could submit in on MAL.

Finally, a new oneshot is up. This oneshot was very cute and I liked it. Not too groundbreaking for a shoujo though. ;)

It doesn't actually have a page on MAL so i linked to the baka-updates page. If you want to add it to your list its on the same page as a publishing manga by the mangaka.

I haven't been on in a while...how goes it?

I am a huge fan of satoshi's work, and these two stories aren't exceptions. While they're not at out-there as some of his movies, kaikisen still really captured my interest and had suspense to it. Summer of tension to a lesser degree.

Awesome! What a great way to pay tribute to one of the very few true Masters who has worked in anime.

Kupopopo | Aug 30, 2010 9:29 PM
R.I.P Satoshi Kon, I always loved his work.

New oneshot is up. In remembrance of Satoshi Kon I searched out and found Summer of Tension. I liked it, and thought it was interesting.

note: it can only be downloaded through the mediafire folder. it is not on mangatraders.

As a bonus I have also decided to feature the volume that Summer of Tension comes from, Kaikisen.

enjoy.

Seinen/shounen.

And yeah, I would have added one, but I only returned to the land of the living yesterday, after a rather significant general anesthesia surgery to repair a hernia, among other things...

Kupopopo | Aug 30, 2010 1:04 PM
Oh, what demographic are we going for this time?

katsup | Aug 30, 2010 11:08 AM
sorry i'm a little late, i'll add it now. expect a new oneshot soon :) i have one in mind just gotta read it first!

YoungVagabond | Aug 29, 2010 5:11 PM

Umm.. I don't think Hagoromo Mishin has been added to the club's MF folder yet. Or it could be just me?

Kupopopo | Aug 23, 2010 4:45 PM
This week's one-shot looks beautiful. I don't comment often on the art of manga, but it is.

YoungVagabond | Aug 21, 2010 2:38 PM
New selection of the week, the josei romance "Hagoromo Mishin".

You can argue whether it's a true one-shot or not, (a single volumed, sharply focused work, but listed as simply a manga here) but it's one of the better josei/shoujo manga I have read in a while, so I decided it could use some more readers.

Check it out and leave comments.

Just read it too, it was a pretty quaint story.

I think that's the first time that an arranged marriage actually goes as planned?

@ manami-chan
Omg I just read Tsuki no Waltz....it's lovely, isn't it?

manami-chan669 | Aug 15, 2010 12:11 PM
Has anyone read Tsuki no Waltz? I loved that one...

YoungVagabond | Aug 12, 2010 12:14 PM
Yeah, very good choice by katsup (and original recommendation by ESSWHY); GOGGLE is a quality manga with that kind of relaxed, contemplative flavor certain Japanese authors/manga authors infuse into their work. Certainly worth reading.
