@primaltare I don't think the manga goes against their guidelines, since it's serialized in a manga magazine (Ultra Jump) and drawn by a Japanese manga artist (Miwa Shirow). What the original source is doesn't matter. That's the same thing with stuff like "Supernatural The Animation" and "Iron Man", which have been in MAL's anime database for a while. |

Manga chapter 3 was translated. Seems to be covering what lead Weiss to the events portrayed in her trailer.By the way, I believe there's a way to add series and characters to a club page. It would be nice to have the manga and characters listed here. |

What I meant was that if people want to get RWBY added into MAL, they should ask for the rules to change, instead of directly asking for it to be added when it simply would be against the current rules. Those questions I wrote were supposed to be exaples of what people could ask if something like that was requested (sorry if that wasn't clear), so answering them directly to me accomplishes next to nothing. That being said, I'll give my opinion on why your proposed solutions wouldn't work quite well: "Something in Japanese style" is far from a precise definition. Is Avatar "Japanese style"? Are Crayon Shin-chan, or Aku no Hana "Japanese style"? And what to say of CGI movies like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Captain Harlock, both of which are currently on MAL's database? And even then, some people would still argue that RWBY isn't "Japanese style". Worst of all, each moderator would have a different opinion on the subject, and there's no easy way to make it objective. Vague rules are almost as good as no rule at all. Then, what would be the stopping point? If someone said they wanted the rules to change so that they could add The Simpsons, for example, into their list, what argument would moderators use to deny it? Surely, the person could just say it looks "Japanese style" to them. Changing rules on a whim is asking for trouble. |
