No way to know, unfortunately. Though given that they seemed to have Eiji Otsuka at a North American convention recently, as seen on their site. One could assume that this may be a sign that they will stop dragging their heels. Hopefully.

Hopefully they'll keep up the pace cause we're way behind Japan and even France.

There's a new volume out, translated by Dark Horse.

For $13.00 that's not bad, considering it's taken so long for the next volume to be released. If we support the new volumes by purchasing them, hopefully they'll continue to release them over the course of this year. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I think this club is long overdue. By far one of my favorite mangas... Really horrible news down there about it being put on hold... LET ME FINISH IT FIRST!!!

Vogelfrei | Nov 7, 2009 10:12 PM
Somebody has to get the word out about this excellent series! Who runs this club?

... oh, right. >.>

Mrrranda | Nov 7, 2009 4:09 PM
Also, while they haven't dropped it outright, I was told that Dark Horse has put this manga on hold due to poor sales! Got the word last month, from one of their reps working a merch table at the Lovecraft Fest here in Portland.

So we all know what we're buying for our grandmas, co-workers, and/or any small children we babysit this Christmas, right?

Miike's TV adaptation is readily available on Amazon (region 1) and Play.com (region 2), with English subs. I found it worth my time, but I saw it *before* I began reading the translated manga. After the first volume it diverges pretty significantly - SPOILERS...

SPOILERS...

SPOILERS:

...Tetora Nishizono isn't in the miniseries at all, and Miwa appears briefly, as a very different character, never becoming the formidable gun-toting jet-crasher of the manga. It also omits some of the more aesthetically striking deaths in the manga (the impaled schoolgirl w/the crow on her back, the angel/rib murders). However, it has its own surreal little touches (Amamiya & Machi musing on life on a beach studded with abandoned iMacs, the detective's mistress).

Draculoid | Nov 6, 2009 6:50 AM
I personally heard it want all that great and the plot differs quite a bit from the manga...

ashura | Nov 5, 2009 1:57 AM
grrr i'm searching for it but i can't find it anywhere with english subs. there's no official dvd release for Europe either. :(

Lenks | Nov 4, 2009 7:14 PM
I've seen it. It was decent. It's Miike, so it's different. It's...interesting. The version released here is censored, so there's pixalation on the controversial shots (nudity, gore, etc).

ashura | Nov 1, 2009 1:01 AM
probably the rest are not aware of this club's existence.
btw, anyone seen the live action series?

Vogelfrei | Oct 31, 2009 11:22 PM
I know, it doesn't make sense!
