Vegeta (ベジータ, Bejīta) or Prince Vegeta is a fictional character, supervillain, anti-hero and later superhero in the anime and manga series Dragon Ball Z and appears in Dragon Ball GT, as well as Neko Majin Z as a goof by Akira Toriyama. He appears in all Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT sagas and is the rival to the series' main protagonist Son Goku. Vegeta is also the prince of the Saiyajin, a nearly extinct warrior race.
His name is generally considered to be a pun on either vegetable or the condiment vegeta.
