Is that so? what a pity i mean the story not the fan service.

You know give Popee the Performer a try, that one is quite the unusual visual punch, as for story it is quite random so i don't know if it will be your coup of tea, but if it is, we may be onto something.

I saw Aku no Hana being discussed on the forum, and it's already on my “plan to watch” list. I guess I'll move it up in priority.

Shinsekai yori fanservice isn't in the whole franchise, though. Plenty of people took episode 8 to be fan disservice, and I don't remember any other fanservicy episodes. Only the manga's like that (and the story suffers badly).

Hi there!

Haha i never supported the addition of Shinsekai yori the fanservice in the whole franchise is of the most average, maybe the story is unusual, and the art was what you would expect of the animation of our days, the people that actually finished were polarized about it, some bitched about the characters, some about the story, over all i guess people liked the show.

And yet it is here, lets just assume that the description doesn't matter, indeed it looks outdated, and misleading.

Give Aku no Hana a try, the anime is rotoscoped, the story is about sexual liberation, and finding one self, i read the manga and skipped the anime because it saved time, the story is good, and the anime seems to stick to it, is indeed unusual looking, again the people who actually finished watching that anime got polarized for the wrong reason, mostly the aesthetics since it doesn't uses traditional animation, despite what the name and the OST may point to, the series is not really about evil, or psychological horror, so don't expect nothing of that.

You're description says “And no children with god-like powers!”, yet I came here from Shinsekai yori!

Anyway, hi. I haven't watched that many anime series (26), but a few are on the list. I particularly enjoyed Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei (and Shinsekai yori). Recommend stuff for me if you want, but my “plan to watch” list is longer than my “watched” list.

I haven't seen it yet, but I am a big fan of Tekkonkinkret.

Doomroar | Apr 13, 2014 5:14 PM
I just finished watching the 1st episode of Ping Pong The Animation and it well deserves its place in this club, just like other works from the author that got animated (Tekkonkinkret), unlike the Live action adaptation of the manga, this animated version seems to be more faithful to the story, but leaving that aside, the animation and aesthetics are unusual enough for the series to fit perfectly in this club.

It wasn't actually meant apologetic, but rather funny (I'm bad with jokes, though lol).

Doomroar | Mar 29, 2014 5:16 PM
@AkibaNightrider your case is pretty much normal, nothing to be apologetic about.

Royce | Mar 29, 2014 4:43 PM
@AkibaNightrider we all watch at some point of our life, but we love weird stuff from time to time.

Speaking of conquering the world... World Conquest Zvezda Plot is a story about a cute little girl loli who rides a pink bicycle with training wheels who conquers the world, starting with Japan. The art is very good and if this one isn't unusual, I don't know what is. :-)

2. Witty and funny is Hoozuki no Reitetsu (Cool-headed Hoozuki). This dark comedy revolves around the fierce god aide to the Great King Yama who rules part of Hell. What makes this one unusual is the use of old classic Japanese and Chinese art in the background. Well worth the watch.

I joined this club although I'm watching a bunch of shounen titles. I hope I can be forgiven (^-^).

You know at 12 episodes i think that Space Dandy has proven itself to be quite unusual, just with its style of animations which changes completely from episode to episode, we should consider adding that one.

Syndx | Mar 8, 2014 11:16 AM

Na that happens mostly in manga, with the occasional (which is pretty much normal now) anime with cute high school girls involved in unusually violent situations to increase shock value by mixing 2 unrelated things, i don't think i need to drop any names for those as example, there are almost everywhere now, sure most of those are censored as they can get, and hardly count as gore, but the same can be said for most anime nowadays they are all censored, however the intention of what they tried to do is pretty much clear.

As for apocalypse Zero wow, thanks i didn't know it had an anime! the manga was both funny, gruesome and baddass! and i do admit the initial enemies are a combination of goofiness with mindfuck, it gets more serious later on, who knows how much was covered in the anime, however Apocalypse Zero is definitively not moe, just funny.

Jym | Feb 7, 2014 2:49 PM
Moe gore? Give an example. I've seen gore that was unintentionally funny but not cute gore.
Wait! Do you mean when the hamster gets splatted against the wall? That's just cartoon violence like the Roadrunner and the Coyote.
A good example of funny gore is in the show Apocalypse Zero. The monsters are cartoony but the animation and characters are good. Best scene is when a 20 foot fat naked woman sucks the face off a helpless student. Now that's funny gore.

Doomroar | Feb 7, 2014 10:56 AM
But Gore that is Moe is just, not the same... it seems so goddamn fake! why!? why did you do this gore? whyyyyyyyyyy!?

Jym | Feb 6, 2014 3:56 PM
mmm...Gore ahhhh! -"slurping noises"
