Ukyo's personal bodyguard who always has a corncob pipe in his mouth, he's constantly reminding Ukyo to stay focused on his responsibilities. He's always enduring Ukyo's near-constant verbal abuse, and is occasionally openly frustrated by his childish demands.
During the final battle, he reveals himself to be a samurai. Though he admits to selling his sword to the merchants in order to survive in the world, he never loses his samurai pride to protect his "lord" at all costs. While he appears to be slightly bulky and slow, his sword skills are actually a match for any of the seven samurai.
