If you like the Spice & Wolf franchise, I apologize. I know it's often regarded very highly by its fan base, and I've witnessed staunch defenses of why it's so good and the strong points it boasts.
I get all of that. I understand the arguments that everyone makes and the pros that they assert in regards to the show. But for some reason, I CANNOT get into Spice & Wolf, nor can I with the second season. I don't know why. I can't for the life of me fathom the reason what it is about this show that I don't see, but it doesn't do it for me.
I really want to like it, I do. Maybe my brain isn't wired correctly. Maybe I was dropped on my head as a child one too many times. Maybe I wasn't dropped on my head often enough. But for whatever reason the Great Otaku in the sky resolved upon, I CAN'T GET EXCITED ABOUT SPICE & WOLF.
As this incredibly apparent fact continuously rears its bastard head at me (every goddamned time I look at My List), a similar pattern has been noticed in my behavior when I'm watching other shows. Many people praise the show, and I can get behind what they're saying, but when I'm in the middle of viewing, it just doesn't stick with me. Therefore, I have decided to tag such shows with S.A.W. Syndrome. There you go, mystery solved.

SO good. Really. If you haven't seen it, consider trying it when you have the time. God damn.
I've yet to see Cowboy Bebop, but I think it's safe to say Watanabe Shinichiro is the Quentin Tarantino of anime.
