Anime Relations: Seikai no Monshou
9. Baccano!~ Baccano! made the favorite's list for being life changing. Living in New York, Italian-American culture is very prominent, especially in New York's early history of the last century. This anime sets place during this time. Since I enjoy western media just as much as eastern anime, I really started to get interested in olden day mafia dramas. There was a time when I took a break from anime to watch these kinds of movies exclusively. That phase has since past, but it definitely had a profound effect on the types of shows I watched and the scenes I exposed myself to. On top of that, this is one of the unique anime that is recommended in its' English dub, since the translation team used actual slang/jargon from the time.

8. Initial D First Stage~ Initial D is iconic. I watched this after taking a break from anime and started learning about cars. The anime taught me many things about cars, and even money, that I wouldn't have learned watching the Fast and the Furious where everyone has a souped up ride while traveling the world and getting into dangerous situations. This is just a kid who helps his dad out at their restaurant delivering food and taking what he gets without much quarrel. His friends save up for their chances to buy fancy cars, until they realize that it's the driver that makes the car (even prompting one of them into trying to by the same model Takumi has). Of course racing cars is very dangerous in its own right, the thrill of the race is what this anime is most known for (apart from the 86).

I've been using MAL for like 2 or 3 years but this is my first blog post so I'm kinda just testing the waters on this :]
Well I've liked anime since I was small. My first anime series was Pokemon and Naruto but the first anime I ever saw was Spirited Away when the movie used to air all the time on Cartoon Network over summer vacation. I really started focusing on watching primarily anime when I tried to watch some cartoons online and stumbled upon anime sites. My friends in school were always telling me to read chapters of Bleach years ago but I was never really into it. I still support the industry in the ways that I want/can- games, manga, and some figures
