New Interest Stack
Interest Stacks![]() ![]() - Mainly serious conversations ![]() ![]() anime within the cyberpunk genre or including various cyberpunk elements. suggested to me from various sources ![]() ![]() This list covers any anime that utilizes vocal synths (VOCALOID, UTAU, CeVIO, Synthesizer-V, etc.) in some sort of way. This mostly focuses on direct usages of vocal synths within the shows, but some of the entries here are attached for more unusual reasons. ![]() ![]() Part 2: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/28792 ![]() ![]() shows with characters on a higher plane of existence (Deus ex machina from mirai nikki, kyubei from madoka...) ![]() ![]() Animes that don't feel like there an anime. Would probably work as a live action film/series if given to the right people. ![]() ![]() This list is my second list. ![]() ![]() In Theaetetus, Socrates said "Philosophy begins in Wonder." ![]() ![]() Avant-Garde.................. ![]() ![]() Around the late 90s and early 2000s (the "Y2K Era", if you will), art style trends included a softer and more realistic look characterized by rounded, prominent noses and smaller eyes. These style trends were often found in darker, more adult anime, though some lighter-hearted productions could fall under the "Y2K Art Style" label as well. They just don't make anime that look like this anymore! ![]() ![]() Still a WIP list, some anime (NGE, Texhnolyze, Akira, Perfect Blue) follow the criteria more than others (Nana, Gurren Lagann) ![]() ![]() So you've reached a certain age when shonen shows with never-ending fights between uni-dimensional characters who are only interested in becoming stronger bore you to tears ; when school romances look the same to you again and again with repetitive tropes and characters ; when mechas looks so much the same that you can't actually remember which show you're currently watching. You only want to watch shows with good stories, good characters, good production value and interesting topics, including some possibly disturbing ones, although you don't want cheap horror either with jumpscares and pointless suffering on-screen since there is enough misery in the world. ![]() ![]() Anime with opening or ending themes sang in English. I'm almost certainly missing/forgetting some, so if you know of any others let me know. |
