Both have time travel, monsters & card battles. The main villains of both anime are also time travellers. Both have monster spirits sealed within cards.

Both the second anime movies for iconic children's franchises Yugioh and Digimon. Both have cast from several generations of their respective anime franchises who team up against the movies villain. Both have amazing art styles, characters and character designs. Both are similarly as lesser known than the first and subsequent movies in their franchises (such as Tri and Dark Side of Dimensions).

It's like the 50 minutes of hype when you love the show but haven't seen it a long time, then it returns with everything why you love the series.
