Kingdom 5th Season

To the people who, wondering if they should watch it or not.
This anime is probably one of the greatest anime out there, that is probably least spoken about. I have never seen anime that great, that didn't get a spotlight on it. I can easily say, this anime dominated Winter 2024 season and it's not even close to compare them to any of those TOP ranked anime's this season.
I have watched hundreds of anime and can easily say Kingdom is one of my favourite anime of all time. I have seen people talking about Anime was bad adaptation of manga, but at the ... same time look at how Naruto started, One Piece and all of those great anime all started poorly in terms of visuals. Fun thing, is that it's only half of season 1 that was bad in visuals, but it had amazing story. Season two has already improved visuals and as always amazing story and great character development. After season 2, visuals in season 3, 4 and 5 are on point.
To conclude:
Highly recommend watching this anime and you won't be disappointed. Force yourself watching it through season 1 and eventually you will feel in love with this anime. It has amazing story, character development and I can guarantee it worth watching it. I don't think there is any War anime that can be comparable to Kingdom. I watch all of them and can easily say this is one of the greatest anime and most underrated anime of all time.

This anime is probably as real as it get's, when it comes to actual history. Use of different war tactics, diplomacy, strategies, different land marks, equipment makes it even more real and accurate, when it comes the story.

This arc isn't long but man it is brutal and shows how much of a savage Huan Yi really is, Fei Xin Force really was sent to the most dangerous frontline, and is in quite challenging confrontation with Zhao forces. Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto are working on the soundtrack here, OP and ED are really good, and art style really progressed over the years. Kingdom is in my top 3 anime list and if you survive first season poor animation and focus on story and characters you are here for a treat. Each season is a constant progress of animation, lorebuilding, characters development. Each ... character is important and have his goals and principles, leading to deeper worldbuilding. 5th season is direct continiuation of that progression and I definitely see it will stay on that path forward into the next seasons.

Overview
The long-awaited 5th season of kingdom. This spectacular story goes through such a strategic war time era where it’s cleverly thought out and done so well. I love the strategy ideas they go through to beat and crush their enemies. They haven’t run out of ideas and aren’t at all the same repetitiveness of attacking and defensiveness. They have different places, different styles and different characters. I am super excited and not even disappointed at all at how amazing this 5th season is turning out.

I think from season 3 and 4 all the way into 5th seasons the story has gone up so ... much more and they are doing a really good job making sense of the entire series and they keep the ideas within the story together as a whole. I absolutely love how they introduced new characters in the story, it just added so much more. I can’t begin to explain how epic the story is without spoiling it’s just good.
Art style 10/10
I am starting to really like the art style of the animation and how fluent the expressions on these new characters are. They show how impactful these scenes can really be. The art style in seasons 1 and 2 were bad but season 3 to 5 they really increased and upgraded so much since then.
Sounds 7/10
I was expecting an epic opening song for this amazing season 5, to describe how amazing and maybe feel immersed in the atmosphere that this story and characters are told. I think the opening song is good even if it wasn’t as what I was expecting. The atmosphere in the anime created is just as good.
Character 10/10
The characters from the 4th season feel a lot more upgraded in season 5. I like the fact that we are introduced to new ones, they are good. I love the gross, eeriness and overall scariness some of the characters have its so funny at times.

This is truly a masterpiece, art style, animation, sounds, atmosphere, concepts. I am really enjoying the 5th season and I hope to see more, and I am glad to be back in the story of kingdom again.

Probably the best long running series that nobody watches.

The 5th season of Kingdom is the shortest yet, but focuses on one of the most brutal arcs in the manga. This season draws an interesting parallel between our MC Shin and Kanki, arguably the most polarizing character in the series. The similarities in their backgrounds, as well as their vastly differing views on war and what is acceptable on the battlefield, paint an interesting moral dilemma, leading to conflict between the two. This builds over the entirety of the season, eventually boiling over and leading to a lot of growth and maturing for our ... boy Shin.

Kingdom is filled with amazing action and intense strategic battles, leading up to some incredible emotional climaxes, but I feel like what sets this series apart is the moments it zeroes in on the moral and political issues that all this warfare raises, and the lack of a clear cut “right” answer. Warfare is an ugly, messy affair and there is no way around this. There is no one who is entirely good or evil; there is no such thing as absolute “right and wrong” in the world. While these aren’t new or marvel ideas on their own, this series, and more specifically this latest season, display and reinforce these ideas masterfully. This season delivers on its main strengths, showing that the team at Pierrot truly understand the material they’re adapting.

Kingdom has always been a bit of a hard sell for new fans, since the first season (and first half of the second season) is filled with very outdated-looking CGI, which is an instant turn off for most newer anime fans. The animation greatly improves from season 3 onward, but the hard part for new viewers is making it to that point. The manga is incredible in its own right, but being nearly 800 chapters currently, it’s long enough to scare away a lot of people who are unsure whether they want to invest that much time (which is understandable). I will say though, that if you can brave the first season and/or take the plunge and read the manga, you will be rewarded with one of the greatest stories ever told in the medium.

Note: Since this is one of my favorite series of all time, my score of the 5th season is obviously bias, but even objectively this season is easily an 8.5-9/10. I can’t recommend Kingdom enough. Please watch/read it.

This season has taken a big difference in warfare for it is positioned in a very dense forest. This part takes place from the usual flatland warfare style and takes its weapons onto the forest, which a certain army in this season will definitely excel. This is also where Shin can stack up reputation with the army he's supporting right now and really show off what he's made for. Character development will take place here and the Fei Xin Force will undergo a transformation, deepening their bonds and Shin's comrades which we all know and love. It hasn't lost its fever and its hype meters ... has never gone down.

Highly underated anime.
I followed if from first season and it get's better with every season.
This story really stick with me, and not to mention that characters are one of my fave ever.
New generals are quite interesting figures, and this is the first time that I was rooting for the other side. Love this season so far .
Animation is getting better and better, which somehow makes fights so interesting.
It is very unique take on war anime, also unique and fun and dangerous at the same time. I really don't get why is this anime not getting on popularity.

I suggest this anime if you're into strategic thinking, meticulous planning, and captivating characters, I highly recommend this anime. It's a compelling watch for those who appreciate the art of strategy and enjoy unraveling intricate plots. With its focus on clever tactics and the thrill of outmaneuvering opponents, this series keeps viewers engaged from start to finish. Kingdom 5th season will get you hyped every time. It's all about fighting, strategy, politics, and ideals. There are so many tense and crazy moments, it will get you onto the edge of your seat if you are invested. This season highlighted a huge fight with the Qin army with the commander being a previous warlord. As you can imagine, almost two thousand years ago, there were a lot of atrocities everyday, let along during a war, and with an army full of former bandits. There will be moments it is over the top. As with any war, it is just a huge chess match ... with the army as its pieces. But the warlord goes beyond combat strategies and has more insight into human nature.

Follow the idealistic MC during a war torn period of Chinese history as a soldier who gradually rises the ranks. The MC is idiotic but has two intelligent partners, one a strategist and another a vice captain who are in love with him. He has a personal friendship with the king who is trying to unite China and the MC's personal goal is to become the greatest general and a sword for the king to achieve his goal. It is a very well done story and this season in particularly good.
