Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki Yonsatsume

The 4th season is over? That kind of came outta nowhere. There isn't even a review out on the main page yet. I'm not complaining mind you, because this advertisement has definitely run it's course. You half heartedly let out a little chuckle at one or two of the jokes, strain a smile every now and then at the characters antics, but most of the time it's listening to a barrage of Japanese cultural references that mostly go over your head, blankly staring at your TV screen as you act like you're actually interested in what they're selling. But you already know all this obviously, ... this is the fourth season of course!

So why am I still here? I don't really know myself. Because it's easy to binge at only 2-3 minutes of actual content an episode? I sure as hell wouldn't be watching this if it was a full length comedy, that's for damn sure. It's kind of cute and not too serious? Possibly.

Seasons 2, 3 and 4 can't match S1's perfect balance between references thrown at the viewer and other SOL/School moments. It's too much now. This show must be gold for the Japanese audience though, they actually get it. Anyway, it's turning into Yami Shibai, stop while you're ahead. 4/10.

This is no longer proper anime. This is just blatant advertisement. It felt like watching that product placement scene from Wayne's World only it wasn't a joke. There's even an episode near the end where it just flashes endless company logos the entire time. It feels like it was put together by some Japanese tourism board that really, really wanted people to know how special their little prefecture was and that people needed to come visit. The previous seasons at least felt like they had a flimsy story underneath but there's pretty much none of that here. They have the gall in the last episode ... to try and tie it all together with some moral about how we're all different and special in our own special way and need to pay each prefecture respect or something, but after being advertised at for 10 episodes, short though they were I just wasn't feeling it. 5/10

Four seasons of Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki...goes complete fail.
Not going to lie but I don't have the slightest memory while finishing the series... that's why I don't recommend watching anime that are less than 10 minutes long per episode.

The art is pretty nice but the story is confusing to me, but if you have spare time you might be able to enjoy some short comedy weather it's on the go, small lunch breaks, etc
