The best idea I can come up with for how to review this is to try and describe what I think this music video is about. It's not meant to be a synopsis so much as my interpretation of the meaning of the song and these visuals. The title is Cinderella and the imagery quickly points to familiar things like the pumpkin carriage and glass slippers. We see a girl on a train reading from what I imagine is a picture book of the story of Cinderella and imagining herself as some sort of anime character with a big hammer facing down a giant glass

slipper. She seems to have a desire to break something, something represented by these slippers or by whatever idea they represent. She is unable to break the single glass slipper and these images are repeated a couple times.
Eventually we see another girl on the same train doing the same things and eventually both of them are seen working together to break the glass slipper. Once separated on opposite sides of the train car, after breaking the slipper they are together on one side now seeming friendly with each other. The closing shots include them together on a beach moving into the sunset with a pair of glass slippers left far behind them in the sand.
So what does all this mean? What is the story of Cinderella? It's a single night of fantasy in an otherwise dreary world, but with the looming threat of midnight bringing a sure end to it all. The glass slippers could be seen as representing all the magic of that night, or perhaps if we invert it they could represent how temporary that night was. By seeking to smash those slippers it could be seen that you're trying to break what is temporary, and make something that is real. Given the context of the lyrics "this is not a Cinderella story" and the fact I think it's supposed to be a love song, I'm going to go with this explanation.
The girl seems to be living in a mundane world, perhaps having a few failed relationships ending at midnight so to speak. She wants to end the temporary world of fantasy by smashing through all those glass slippers but she just can't seem to do it alone. Then the other girl comes along and together they finally achieve their goal by being in lesbians with each other and adopting a cat.
I don't know, I'm really stretching for material here. I made a goal to write a review every entry on my list and it's turning out to be not easy for things like this. I love assigning numbers to things because that's the one objective critique that everyone can understand. So rating my enjoyment of this, solid 7/10. It's alright, but it's not changing the world or anything.
