Kingdom 4th Season

Kingdom 4th season is better than any previous season, not only in animation, but also in story.

This season has seen a lot of plot twists unravel, tangles cleared up, and truths revealed.

It features everything, from the heartbreaking moments of losing a loved one, to getting over things that are extremely difficult to overcome, forgiving the unforgivable, accepting the consequences, and striving for greatness.

The character development just keeps getting better, the fights are of the same caliber as last season, and the pacing is great.

If you've made it this far in this series, you won't be disappointed with this season, far from it, you'll be glad ... you made it this far.

Overall, this season in my opinion is the pinnacle of the series as of right now and continues to give the viewer excitement, enjoyment and something to look forward to.

Story 10/10 - The story of this season is more about Qin than any other country the way that the story has played out so far is absolutely incredible. It is a story that no one could predict and one that gives you goosebumps every time something occurs. It is still of course a war story but the story and anime has already given a lot of character development to a lot of side characters. The story is also a very enjoyable one that gets you excited every time somethings new happens.

Art 9/10 - The art unlike Season 1 and 2 is incredible this ... time with the beautiful close range shots of the characters and also the fantastic long range shots of the armies and the nature. It is even better than the Season 3 animation with the new characters designs and art. The animation and art has so far been pretty consistent and I hope they keep up with this up.


Sound 9/10 - The soundtrack in this season is wonderful, however it does not live up to the season 3 soundtrack and I don't think any other season will. This does not mean that the sounds or the soundtrack is bad, just that the other seasons soundtrack is a bit better. The sounds fit really well within each scene and the music shows what is trying to be portrayed, whether it be comedy, action or tense scenes. The one thing about Kingdom that I absolutely love is the fact that in some scenes, there is no sound. It is just a dialogue between them that is not destroyed by terrible music and I think this really brings out the good in the dialogues and really amplifies the message.


Characters 10/10 - The characters in Kingdom are without a doubt in my mind the key part of the Kingdom series. We see these characters every time, and every time we see them, some things have changed and developed. Lets take Sei Kyou for an example. In the previous seasons we see Sei Kyou as a bitter and greedy man with no thought for others, however in this season we see Sei Kyou's other sides thanks to his Wife and his old companion (forgot his name). Each and every single one of these characters are extremely human and we can all see a bit of us in every one of these characters. The main characters in Kingdom are also all very likable. Because of the nature of the anime and the characters that have been established during its run, character interactions and relationships are frequently skillfully handled. However, this is not always the case, since in other cases, things were delivered to the audience fairly abruptly, making the entire scene appear odd. Some of the characters' behaviors occasionally clash with their own principles and personalities such as Sei Kyou, but the overall experience was enjoyable. This clashing of principles and personalities is in my eyes a very positive thing that can lead to good character development. The villain of this season is a villain that we have not paid much attention too throughout the series and that finally has made his move. Ryo Fui is a extremly well written character which we do not know a lot about despite the fact that he is an amazing merchant who aims to take over the throne. He's a very sly character with the most ambition I've seen in a character. The characters' spectrum of emotions is better conveyed: we sense their desperation and drive, anguish and delight, wrath and remorse. Characters like Sei Kyou, who looked hollow or clichéd in previous seasons, are given more depth and expressiveness, with a few exceptions.


Enjoyment 10/10 - There's not a lot to say about this, I am really enjoying this anime and hope that they don't mess it up. The enjoyment of this season is a bit less than Season 3 so far, however I have high hopes.


Overall 10/10 - This is a great season that I recommend everyone to watch because I have a feeling this will become one of the better seasons. This is an amazing anime that I has the most potential out of all the animes out right now.

Kingdom was my hidden gem anime of 2022. Binged all 4 previous seasons and caught up in this season, and I am glad I discovered it! For this 4th season, I think it has a little something for everyone: action, politics, heart-wrenching moments, comedy here and there, etc. The story is as exciting as ever with the large-scale battles and we see a lot of growth with characters and in their relationships with one another. I think that was the best part for me; somehow, this show effortlessly communicates growth and maturity with good pacing and well-placed flashbacks that give context to the minds of ... key characters this season. This is well woven into the plot and makes for an engaging viewing experience.

I know some may not enjoy this as much as the end of previous season where the stakes felt higher. I do think that there was somewhat less tension in the battles this season and this is the only part I wish was done better. But all in all, the experience that the plot gave overshadows that for me, and that makes it a solid 9 out of 10 in my opinion. Don't sleep on this great anime!!

Kingdom is an enjoyable adrenaline ride toeing the line between shounen and seinen. The anime is adapted from a popular and highly acclaimed manga.

Despite all these attractions, Kingdom hasnt been as enthusiastically picked up by the anime community as one would expect. There are two clear reasons for that:

1 - The animation in the first season absolutely sucks!
2 - The first arc of the show is by far the weakest.

The good news is that this show is in a constant ascent in quality. The show immediately becomes more interesting when it moves to the battleground, with full scale wars.

The ... animation has consistenly improved every season. While season 2 still didnt look good, it was a major improvement over the first. Season 3 made another major improvement in animation over season 2.

The 4th season continues the trend of improvement, nevertheless, the animation is still the weakest aspect of the show. While the characters and scenery look beautifull, the budget doesnt allow for anything even resembling sakuga animation. This weakness is most noticiable whenever Kyou Kai (Lei Qiang) is present. Kyou Kai is supposed to have a dance-like style of swordsmanship, but due to the limitations of the animation, this simply cannot be portrayed and her fights end up looking rather poor.

The weakness of the animation is the main reason i can't in good conscience give this show a 10, but the other aspects of the show make up for it and make this a great worthwhile show.

The show features some political elements and battle strategy, combined with the "overpowered" charachters typical of shounen anime (those that can single handely beat dozens of enemies by themselves). This makes the battles very entertaining as there are always at least two layers of engagement. On one hand you have the conflict of strategies and on the other hand you have the expectation of the "one on one" encounters, where the powerfull soldiers face each other. Due to the large scale of the battles it is often not clear who will end up facing who in one on one battle, so the show can occasionally surprise you.

Overview
The history of the 7 Warring kingdoms era of the creation of China by conquering nations is what this anime is based off from. I have to say the first season was slow, tedious and somewhat strange. I had absolutely no idea it was based off anything at all. The continues development through the series gradually become so much compelling in art style, story and characters. I have never seen in a long time where an anime keeps up with so many characters all the time through out the series. It is extremely difficult to do, and I love it.

It is somewhat easy in a lot of people’s head where of course when something is already written down for you, they can pretty much use that for the story. I don’t really think so because you still are approaching this with very little information. You are still missing a lot of vital information and complexity that was there or missed or even not recorded correctly. It’s the approach that really puts it together as a whole. The story was of course explained well and developed nicely through the entire series. First and second season was very slow start but season 3 and 4 is where things start to get a lot more interesting. There are a lot of combat strategies I would never imagine existed or even made sense for it to work but it does. It is truly a masterpiece of history and story. There are several things about the anime I could talk about for days, but you would have to watch as it is very complex.

This anime has come a long way with the art style, but it is still missing that touch about it, as the art style started to get good some color changes start to get confusing in season 4. It is not this weird CGI anime look we had in season 1 which I am glad that we don’t have it anymore in season 4, heck even season 3 is where it started to look a lot better.
Sound 7/10
The music for the opening song is fun to sing along and listen to especially 4th season, the other season weren’t so memorable but the sound effects for parts of the anime that were crucial were done well and created such intense atmosphere and suspense. The subtleness about it creates something truly special.
Character 10/10
With an already thoroughly explained in-depth complicated story, the characters are of course the most crucial to get right, especially as they are used as a key in creating the story. There are so many characters and can be hard to follow sometimes but your always introduced every single time who these characters are, so you’re not left completely wondering around. The characters have great voice actors and always manage to keep in character in the entire series. There are so many characters that you will love and hate, but soon start to love the hated ones.
Overall enjoyment 9/10
I absolutely love the anime because of its great story and characterization development throughout the anime. The art style is great but just lacking a little in some areas, it is still very good regardless. If you’re looking for something to watch, something that gets your blood pumping and blood racing for more about the history of the warring kingdoms this is a good watch. Why are people sleeping on Kingdom? It should be in the top 200 in terms of popularity and this 4th season is without a doubt the best anime series currently airing. This review is short and sweet; a simple shoutout for a god-tier anime. If you haven't watched this show, then stop being the fake otakus (people who have Naruto and AOT as their favorite anime) and get to watching this masterpiece. You will not be disappointed. It has everything you could want. Great characters: check. Great story: check. Politics: check. tactics: check. Blood boiling, adrenaline pumping fight scene: check.

Stop sleeping on this show ... you weirdos, you are in for a treat!

After the masterful third season, I had high hopes for season 4. And till now, I am fully satisfied with the current season.

The animation is great. It still lacks showcasing the brutality of war and some fight sequences but the character designs are really superior.

The music is done by Kohta Yamamoto, the person responsible for the music of the AoT Final season. Don't think it needs any more explanation. Still, it lacks the great Opening and Ending songs like Attack on Titan.

The story was always a strong point of the series and it has been impressive from season 1 where literary the ... story is the only reason we were to go through that shitty CGI. This season doesn't have a masterpiece arc like coalition invasion but it is still better than all the anime that are currently airing right now.

It's a shame that very few people watch it. But whoever do, they sure have a great taste when comes to anime.
