Dua Lipa was turned into her 2D version in the Levitating MV while Find My Color is an MV for the '2D Virtual Influencer' G.G. Both music videos are amalgamations of classic magical girl and magical girl idol anime, Western doll cartoons, Western cult movies as well as female pop stars and K-pop idols. Nostalook and STUDIO LICO were able to encapsulate the "future nostalgia" vibe in Levitating and Find My Color, respectively.

Levitating and Tsuki no Hana are modern takes on magical idol girls and magical girls yet both were able to evoke the retro and nostalgic vibes of classic magical idol girls and magical girls anime. Levitating sort of feels like a homage to the mahou shoujo genre and Sailor Moon while Tsuki no Hana is the ending theme song for the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Cosmos Movie.

Magical girl idols. Levitating was heavily inspired by the old magical girl idol theme and aesthetic. I was reminded of Otome no Inori and other magical girl idols while watching Dua Lipa's Levitating.

Space-themed music videos with female leads, fashionable clothes and pink cars. Both have a futuristic concept but still give a nostalgic atmosphere because of the retro art styles hence 'Future Nostalgia' (Dua Lipa's song Levitating is part of her album 'Future Nostalgia').

Two music videos based on foreign (British) singers original songs. The aesthetic in the video is very coherent to the original idea given conveyed in their main songs too.

Levitating is heavily influenced by Sailor Moon aesthetics, going as far as to imitate the oldschool animation style while also borrowing some imagery including even the transformation sentence. So if you liked Levitating and have yet to see original Sailor Moon, go give it a try. And if you're fan of Sailor Moon, you might enjoy the visuals of Levitating.
