~ based on novels written by the same author (Mo Xiang Tong Xiu) ~ include a similar setting and genre ~ main characters in Tian Guan Ci Fu and almost all characters in Mo Dao Zu Shi (and considering the size of the cast this is extremely impressive) are well thought out, you can't help but empathise with them ~ the attention to detail within the art and production is above average, many parts (especially in Mo Dao Zu Shi) are visually stunning

Chinese folklore, ghosts and cultivation, good plot, good characters, great female characters, comedy with dark and horror vibes, not much action, more like drama, no love plot, but many romantic stories of the past.

-Has the same author MXTX -SVSS is a bit different with the transmigration and the plot compared to TGCF (and MDZS) -SVSS does not have top quality animation - but if u are after a story by MXTX - then this is for you -Both shows show the BL genre even though it does not "exist" in these chinese anime(donghua) -Both are centered in a cultivation world, where other realms exist too - Just loveable characters

Unlucky, poor god has to solve people's problems. Is much stronger than they appear. Good balance of comedy and drama

both about has a main lead that goes on "adventures" trying to solve a mystery/find out the truth with an entourage of friends. Both good and enjoyable for all adventure fantasy mystery lovers.

a guy goes on an adventure trying to solve a mystery which involves fantasy and supernatural element. (with a light dusting of shounen-ai) nice plot and enjoyable characters

Both deal with complicated relationships and the plot's are heavily influence by the characters' backstory. Plus, they're both gay. Only thing to note - Given takes place in the modern world, while Tian Guan Ci Fu is more high fantasy. Both are must watches!

Xiao Jinming and Shi Qingxuan have a lot in common! If you like one then you'll like the other too :) Also, both series are focused on romance- Xiao Jinyun and Xu Yu in Liang Bu Yi, and San Lang and Xie Lian in TGCF. Finally, both have a lot of queer representation in them- TGCF with the main couple, and Liang Bu Yi with... just about everyone XD

Both are set in a cultivation world with two handsome main characters, also they have hints of BL romance, but it's really subtle; The animation in both is MAGNIFICENT, and stories are kinda similar - ''good/white'' guy and ''bad/evil/black'' guy (based on their ways of cultivation and their reputation) In both, they have some cases to solve that are connected to cultivators If nothing else you will enjoy great art, sound and animation with gorgeous characters

both have lots of folklore and cool monsters- the mystery aspect carries TGCF is less horror but more Romance Mononoke is more horror/psych both got good aesthetics and sound

These are both Chinese historical fantasy shows based on a BL novel. They feature similar settings and themes of exorcism, demons, gods, magic, and cultivation. The main pairings are comparable in that one is a demon (Kong Hongjun, Hua Cheng). The art in both is very beautiful, despite Tian Bao Fuyao Lu being cgi. Highly recommend checking out both if you like adorable BL pairings with good plot.

God x Spiritual Entity romance, a protagonist that just wants to live in peace but is forced to solve other people's problems, various god and yokai (spirit) shenanigans, also heavy drama later on

Same idea with priests- big adventure demon and priest type thing with romance involved. TGCF is somehwat better anim and music than Inuyasha though Inuyasha was still good, so watch if you enjoyed but keep in mind TGCF has far better sound and animation... inuyasha is also a bit older

strong god x not-god romance, deity shenanigans in the background, god vs demon/ghost dynamics

both got the mystery factors with the monster-other forces. Both have romance between two different species, both have good visuals,TGCF has better sound also the relationships is similair except tgcf does not take place in a school

Both are in the same type of world - cultivation world, and one is ''white'' and the other character is ''black'' (good and bad (evil); Both have ''romance'' between main characters who are handsome and gorgeous; Animation in both is really MAGNIFICENT; They also have cases they have to solve in both anime's and are made based on novels
