Both shows are Battle Magic School settings, where the main character is slightly older and in a "teaching" role. Both shows feature similar core character groups, though Akashic Records has a main Tsundere while Assassin's Pride does not. Both MC's employ fighting styles that are considered more "unorthodox". Both shows also feature somewhat darker plotlines running in the background that become more apparent in later episodes, though Akashic Records is comedic while Assassin's Pride is more of a straight action/"drama". If you liked one, the other is probably worth checking out. Akashic Records generally has better pacing and production value, but Assassins Pride has a  read more

If you enjoy watching fantasy school settings based around combat, be it swords or sorcery, you will find yourself enjoying Absolute Duo / Assassins Pride. While these shows are about a pair / couple fighting alongside each other in fantasy worlds' schools, the relationship is either between a male student and female student (Absolute Duo) or male teacher and female student (Assassins Pride). The look and feel of both titles have similar "dark" theme without wide open prairies with lush green fields, rainbows, or unicorns.

They have similar main characters - A badass guy in black clothes (with a secret/hidden past) who fights alongside a blonde girl against evil. These two anime are very, very similar. I'm sure if you like one, you'll at least enjoy the other.

Magic high school power fantasy trash that I could not be more eager to watch. Both shows caught my attention immediately and I watched both. One may be substitutional better than the other, but who doesn't have their guilty pleasure wanna be Isekai trash anime once in a while.

both stories have similar content reminiscent of the past with magic schools or adventures involving magic.

Both shows have MCs who are overpowered but keep their true strength a secret unless you mess with them. They also both have magic competitions where girls compete with each other using their magic powers.

I don't know why, but it feels as if Vampir Kufa is similar to Sebastian. Like Sebastian is in secret a demon and Vampir Kufa is half vampire lycanthrope. They like to tease their "Masters" and they both have ulterior motives. Melida Angel is the opposite from Ciel. First of all, Melida is a girl, she is shy, quiet and overall bullied. But the interaction with Vampir Kufa (teacher / Student) is almost the same as Ciel with Sebastian.

I personally didnt think it was the best anime, but it has some swordfights, people with certain powers, a weak mc that needs to be helped by a strong character. Also its only 12 episodes, so yeah, maybe you like it or not, but you always can try.
