They're both set in a historical, court-review justice setting. It's comedic and light-hearted to watch. They have the same mood and vibe.

Both shows have similar styles of humor, art, setting, and characters. -Kai Feng has more memes, while Da Shixiong focuses more on the misfortunes of MC. -The titular characters are seemingly cool and elegant to outsiders, but are actually foolish and childish. Although MCs each have a special trait/ability which is scarcely revealed unless MC is in a dire situation. -Both have close aids that are constantly annoyed at the MCs. The last episode for both shows is slightly more serious than the episodes before it. Most importantly, both shows are a great watch for someone who wants a simple, short, & fun donghua!

Both these donghua have fairly similar traits - both are comedies set in an alternate old Chinese world where cultivators exist side by side with normal human beings, both shows focus more on the gags than the plot itself (which btw is left unfinished till the end), and both of them have heavy doses of pop cultural references and a healthy amount of self awareness.

If you enjoy watching incredibly gorgeous hunks, with beautiful, long hair, who are dressed in ancient East Asian garments, then this is the recommendation for you. As is expected of such shows, there's no plot - both shows are episodic in nature, where all the focus is between the interactions that these hunks have with each other. Both shows also have a healthy does of humour, btw.
