New Interest Stack
Interest StacksHere are some suggestions for anime closer to the themes we see in series and movies with North American and European actors! vibes are: underground, neon lights, urban legends, music, style, rebels without a cause, gangs with a heart of gold, kids being adults, music, chosen family, underground, rejection of society, double lives, etc Anime with emo or whatever 2000s nostalgia. Wide-spaced too huge eyes, large forehead, tiny mouth, moe-blob. Some has y2k fashion or catchy tunes. Some are not to watch with other people unless you know they're fine with it. I haven't really watch any of them so I only picked based on thumbnail art-style. Always read reviews + genre tags before watching. After starting Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, I got curious about which anime use already-existing tracks from so-called "Western" bands or musicians as their openings. So for example, Stray from Wolf's Rain wouldn't count because it was written for the anime, even though it was performed by Steve Conte. On the other hand, Duvet by Boa would count. I don't have a clear distinction between "Western" and not in this case - I'm mostly thinking English-language songs, but tbh anything outside China-Korea-Japan would probably count for these purposes. This interest stack is filled with anime that is both romantic and dramatic. It is meant for watchers who want to see a serious romance unfold among dramatic twists and turns. These titles have very little comedy and stay serious until the very end! This list is non-exhaustive as it only includes titles that I have watched. mindfuck but cool, u might get depression though Romance as the main plot or sub plot but not set in high school rather in the adult world like workplace, university etc This is a list of awesome anime for awesome people that understand how awesome anime is and want to get better at seeing what is actually good. Not everything in the list is a masterpiece (most are) but everything is essential to understanding anime as a medium for drama. |
