Super Lovers

I've enjoyed this series because it explores the complexity of human relationships and how early events can shape a young life. Some people will never look beyond the surface of their phobias and biases and are too stupid to figure out there's a human element to the interactions between the characters that is being portrayed. When Ren was a very young child his drug addict mom sold him to buy drugs. There is a brief scene that shows adult men looming over him, suggesting he was probably molested early in life. That is something that will affect his relationships. Haru was unloved and basically ... abandoned by his selfish mom, coupled with the accident that killed his father and step-mom and nearly killed him, which would have an effect on his relationships. There's more being said in this story than BL.

I'm glad for the diversity that anime brings to the viewer - whether I'm watching Attack on Titan, Blue Exorcist, Kado The Right Answer, or Super Lovers - it's all about the story, the character interaction and development, and the art of the graphics. So for all the narrow minded little bitches out there, just shut up, stop whining about your phobias. You don't have to watch it if makes you uncomfortable and it's just anime. Baka.

If you love the genre, you also might like this Anime. But there is nothing you haven´t seen yet, so I really would say this Anime is complete average.
Exept for the fact, that there is such a huge difference in age between the two boys, it´s creepy. And additionally, the two are brothers, so I am still not able to familiarize with the relationship between the two.
Also, they always skip huge time periods, and everything goes so fast, I don´t understand why they are producing 2 seasons and rushing so fast forward - especially after having watched the end. Therefore, the story looses its ... depth, and parts, where something important could be discussed, just get ruined by comedy-parts or the jump in time.
I liked the Comedy part, don´t get me wrong, but sometimes it just...didn´t fit.
The most beautiful thing - and the one part of the Anime that makes it really worth watching- are the bright colors and the awesome wonderfully drawn landscapes. Hard but true. So, just watch the first episode and see for yourself.
So, all in all a pleasant Anime for in between if you are able to ignore the age of the main characters and like the genre, but nothing outstanding.

This show breaks the chains of old orthodox society and really such shows should be made so that people can truly understand themselves and what they want.
The teens shown looks like minor characters but the task the do is that of main characters sometimes and the way they perform on screen is awesome.
Haru our hero and Ren the second protagonist of our story are in the world of their own an di truly enjoy watching them.
It feels like I ... am there in the scenes and am seeing with my own eyes and experiencing the exact things that are happening on the screen.
The entry of Haruko the mother was really great and funny.
This is among the few shows where I remember the names of the cast and that is really awesome and tells how good this show really is.

One Word : Fantastic!

I've seen many yaoi anime ; they're all good but for Super Lovers, I feel something new. I like how the story isn't too rushed and just play swiftly. Haru and Ren didn't instantly fall in love to each other and even as Ren grew up as a teenager, their feeling is still ambiguous ; either it's platonic or romantic.

THE MORE FORBIDDEN THE RELATIONSHIP IS, THE BETTER.

This yaoi anime may prove too taboo for some. It illustrates a "more-than-family" relationship between Haru and his younger adopted brother, Ren. It begins as an innocent quest to bond as brothers and to accept ... each other as family, but with Haru's doting ways and Ren's attachment, the bond between them begins to skew.

Ren is desperately trying to understand what he means to Haru, and more importantly, what Haru means to him. This need to understand the complexity of love and what they mean to each other guides them into interesting situations. After all, being adopted isn't the same as blood-related!

And it's not everyday you see yaoi with lots of comedy in it.

Note : This is not like Boku no Pico. If you love yaoi who likes exploring 'forbidden relationship' in fiction, THEN I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU THIS! DEFINITELLY ONE OF THE BEST YAOI ANIME EVER. I understand why, while most bl series only have 1 season or no more than 4 volumes, Super Lovers have many fans and is proven to be successful with 2 seasons and 14 volumes as I wrote this review.

Note 2 : I want to criticize those who leave bad review on this anime. I don't recommend this series if you're not a BL fan, still new at BL anime, a minor or someone who applies morality in real life into fiction because you won't enjoy this anime as much as I do. Seriously, I've seen many people who are not the target audiences bother themselves watching this series only to be upset that the series was not what they expected. To put it simply, imagine this anime as a peanut and you have allergic with it. Of course, you have to avoid any anime/food where it'll make you sick. But remember, not all people have allergic to peanut so you can't just say, "this anime makes me sick, don't watch it."

I feel very conflicted and I feel even more conflicted because this was so good, oh my god kill me but listen up, listen. When I first watch this shit I was just getting into yaoi and anime. I had just watch two animes which were Junjou Romantica and Hitorijime My Hero and I wanted more, so I looked online for some good Yaoi recommendations ... and this fuckery appeared. It look sus, it look weird, and there was a little child and a whole grown ass man in the cover but I though "I am blind and I do not see anything wrong"

For my surprise, all the chapters were on facebook and then my trip began...

STORY

Putting aside the fact that yes, yes baby girl, this is incest and you have to admit it. They do not share blood but surprise, surprise, by law Ren is Haru's brother and they share a surname so they are brothers. AND THEY EVEN CALL EACH OTHER BROTHER WHICH IS SICK.

Also, I didn't want to talk without knowing my facts so I investigated a little bit about Japanese laws an according to the penal code of Japan the age to have a consensual relationship is 13 years old but we have to keep in mind that this does not apply to every single type of relationship. As an example, a 13 year old can date a 20 year old and it will be legal, but if that 13 year old has a sexual relationship with his partner that is seemingly older than him it will now be illegal and it will be punish with 5 years of prison. But they can have sexual encounters except intercourse.

So yes, I guess this is technically not pedophilia in Japanese culture but let's not play to be blind, this is fucked up. But a good fucked up and let me tell you why.

Putting aside everything that I said before, this is a slice of life anime of a family which adopted a little kid that acts like a dog which is trying to adapt to society. It is funny, it has good characters, it has situations that will make you laugh a lot and you will have a good time. You will, be sitting there seeing this brothers fighting over something absurd and then BOOM a child groping his brother.

Hey, it's a joke, but it is not a joke.

CHARACTER

Now the intersting part. If I could dive the characters a 10000/10 I would. And let me tell you why. I has some of the best supporting cast that I have ever witness in Yaoi.

We have the Kaidou brother's which are Haru, Ren, Aki and Shima. We also have Haru's bestie Iku and Haru's high school friend, Kiyoka which is our trans icon, Juuzen which is Ren's bestie and other members which names I don't remember.

But I found all the character pretty easy to like and enjoy the little moments that they had in the anime. But it did stress the hell out of me why no one called the fucking police on Haru. But well, I guess everybody makes mistakes.

ENJOYMENT

Hella funny and I hate that I enjoy it this much because say no to incest and pedophilia but technically it is not pedophilia so I have decided that I will make a blind eye on the incest part and pretend that it is not happening, trust me, do the same, you will not regret it.

OVERALL

I give it an 8 out of 10 because I can not make a blind eye. This is illegal territory, but if you don't have a lot of limits and really little morals, you will really enjoy this.

So I guess... give it a chance?

I was really skeptical watching this series coz of the poster I don’t really like kid and an adult relationship but because of some reason i gave it a try and i can say i don’t regret watching this show this is probably my best anime bl so far i enjoyed every episode usually i rewatch a series but only fast forwarding my fave moments but here in my super lovers every seconds is so worh it to rewatch i’ve been watching this show 10 times already still gives me butterflies
Ren is not the typical 16 year old boy it’s like his body ... is teen but his mind and the way he speaks and react are like of an adult he really reminds me of killua thats why i fell inlove with him
