Porong Porong Pororo 2

This is just a copy of the review I did for the first Porong Porong Pororo season.

Back in the 2000s, I would watch this show on my spare time. It is a very childish show so I would just suck up what was appearing on the television. Pororo is a Korean show consisting of a cast that lived in the woods; Pororo, a blue penguin, the star of the show, goes throughout the episode and ends with a moral. Honestly, I thought that the structure of each episode was subpar looking back at it. So here are some numbers you can consider.

Story: 4
The stories ... are usually short and do not prolong into different episodes. The narrative of some episodes tends to be a conflict that is set upon the characters. The narrative of other episodes may be an addition to their life skills. The narrative of some other episodes is set when they try something alien, or new. The pacing of each episode goes fast because of its short stories. Overall, the story of the first season of Pororo may give me some nostalgia, despite each story being basic.

Art: 4
The art is ok. It is 2004 computer-generated, CGI. According to Wikipedia, the studio responsible for the animation was South Korean studio "Studio Gail" and rendered in North Korean company Samchŏlli in Kaesong (just the first season and second season.) Honestly, you can just look past the meager CGI, and kind of enjoy the episode.

Sound: 6
I had the English dub version of Pororo. It was fair; the depiction of the characters in English voices actually fitted each characters' personality. The music is goofy and cinematic in an ironic way at moments. Overall funny.

Character: 8
Each character has their personality and tones and dynamics. First off we have Pororo, a penguin. Krong, is a small green dinosaur, he is the only mute character in the cast of season 1 (he just says "Crong" a bunch of times because that is his name). He was introduced as an egg and once hatched, appeared Krong. Krong appears to be the youngest and childish. Eddy, a yellow fox, is an intelligent character, making all types of inventions and acting all smart and that. His inventions go horribly wrong and causes nuisance to the characters. Poby is a polar bear. He is the oldest and the most mature. Loopy (a beaver) and Petty (the female counterpart of Pororo) are the female main characters. Loopy is more shy and she cooks, and Petty is more outgoing and plays sports. These characters that I mentioned are just a small frame of numerous other characters that appear in the show as it progresses. You can apply this review to season 1, or season 3, or whatever.

Enjoyment: 8
I think I enjoyed Pororo. The cast are literal children so I guess it was enjoyable. Never made me sad.

Overall: 6
I would not recommend binging this show (this is a stock Korean kids' show). But if you have a child or a younger one around (typically 0-3 years old), simply let them watch this show. It is fit for children. It is a nice friendly television show.
