Both main characters have sidekicks that aren't human. They meet them at the beginning and fight together as partners.

Both monster battling series. In both the kid characters have one consistent monster partner (bitbeast or spider in each respective series). Both have important teams, cool character designs and unique monster concepts.

Both kids anime with similar tones and feel. The art styles compliment and remind of each other. Both the English dubs of these shows are Canadian produced also which gives the English versions very similar feels and voices. Both have young prodigy main characters who battle alongside a steed.

Both more niche alternatives to Digimon/Pokemon style shows. Both have young heroes, monster battling & intelligent creatures who communicate with their human partners.

Both kids anime that have sentient monster companions to human heroes. Both shows have the creatures communicate with the heroes in order to combat a common enemy. Both more niche alternatives to classics such as Pokemon, Digimon, Beyblade & Yugioh.

Both follow an out-of-place hero who gets wrapped up in a larger than life conflict against evil forces. Both don't take themselves too seriously and balance good humour alongside their storytelling.

Both kids anime with monster battling. Both have two worlds and a battle to save one of these worlds. Both have cool monster & character designs.

Both niche alternatives to shows such a Pokemon/Digimon that rode the tail winds of the kids monster battling/taming craze in anime around a similar time. Both have creatures that speak in human language and converse with the human characters in the show.

Both more niche "monster battler" series with a cast of young child heroes who fight alongside sentient creatures (talking spiders in spider riders & cosmological beyblade bitbeasts in metal fight beyblade).

Both feature young heroes who befriend and battle alongside sentient creatures. Both have comically incompetent villains as well more serious ones. Unlike other kids monster battling anime, in both of these the heroes wield weapons and also participate in battles alongside their monster friends.

Both kids anime that have teams, monsters, young heroes and battles. The characters for both shows have a lot of similarities such as Tyson/Hunter and Magma/Rey even Kai/Igneous.

A boy from another world gains powers by stepping into another world.

Both feature energetic kids who form teams and battle alongside monsters. Tyson and Hunter have similar attitudes. Igneous even reminds me of Kai and Magma has some similarities to Rei.

Both are Isekai anime from before the genre was rampant. Ordinary boy gets sent to alternate medieval fantasy-type world. Humans are waging war with bugs. Both are humorous, with some action and romance.

Both niche monster battling kids anime that came out on the tail-end of Pokemania alongside a wealth of similar shows such as Yugioh, Beyblade & Digimon to name a few. Taking this into account it's very clear that these shows were created with similar ideas for essentially the same target audience/demographic. Both contain intelligent and communicative creatures that speak to their human counterparts. (These two unlike some others both feature their respective monsters speaking full coherent sentences in the "human" language of whatever language you're watching the show in -think Digimon not Pokemon). They both have very unique and expressive art styles and monster designs. If you  read more
