Kara no Kyoukai and Heaven's Feel are the start of its respective series of movies that take place in Nasuverse (& animated by ufotable). They are very true "Type-Moon" stories, involving atypical characters and magic duels mixed with philosophical clashes.

Both are alternate movie versions of TV series that deviate from the original show's plot in favor of taking a more tragic and darker direction.

Literally the alternate timeline to the sequel. Not the same plot but's pretty dang close with the dark aspects of zero and the heaven's feel trilogy.

A nice improvement on fate stay night heaven fell in terms of animation and storyline but i am a person who doesn't like that sloppy moment in fate stay night heaven lost butterfly even a little bit but this story is one of the best i have ever seen.so if what can i say this is based on the whole story of fate stay night heaven feel.so if you don't like the sloppy moment maybe you can look but it's that moment you skip the look and continue looking back at the story. that's what I did. and apologize for my bad english

If you liked the antagonist from this movie, Fujino Asagami, then you’ll like the Heaven’s Feel route from Fate/stay night in particular! The main heroine from Heaven’s Feel, Sakura Matou, is just a recycled version of Fujino, though slightly less superficial. So if you like Fujino you might like Sakura!

It's also got some horror vibes with a bit of romance and action too, although I'd recommend ya watching at least one of the other Fate series in order to better understand the context of Heaven's Feel.

Both take an alternative approach of their series in the most depressing and dark manner. Music and animation are god tier thanks to Ufotable and Madhouse. They show protag trying to struggle just so they can find a reason by continuing to fight. Definitely a show for mature audience and taken seriously.

Want action with little to think about? SAO OS isn't by any means deep nor is it short on action. With stellar SFX and lore up the wazoo, the Fate/ from studio Ufotable delivers that same quality animation and sound with an added bit of story and immense amount of lore taken inspiration from real life historical figures. The Heaven's Feel movies specifically, while not the best place to start (start at fate/zero), bring identical quality to what is experienced in SAO OS and might push you over the edge to actually dig into the Fate/ franchise if you were ever pondering it and vice  read more

Considering how catastrophic and crucial events happened since Fate/Zero, we've seen how gritty both counterparts when taking the steps of a downfall in the depths of abysmal neverending catalyst..
