Nozo x Kimi

I noticed the reviews being written about this anime and I decided I had to put in my two bits.

My rating for this anime overall is just average. To sum this up quickly I think the first two episodes were extremely weak in most ways. The stories were forgettable, as were the characters. I ended up not really caring about how the stories ended up and I really just wanted to see more of the main character and main heroine which we didn't really get much of.

But the redeeming quality of this anime, what made it bearable and actually surprisingly enjoyable for me, was ... the third episode. There was a more serious tone to it and actually surprised me in a few ways. Not to mention we finally got to see more development of the main characters. To me, the end was truly heartwarming and I was happy I stuck through to the end.

As far as art goes, it was pretty mediocre not terrible but not great. The soundtrack had a few good songs in it for sure, and me personally, I loved the ending song especially for the last episode. With how simplistic the ending song is it kind of sets the theme of the anime: simple, not really trying but for what it was going for, it didn't necessarily need to.

All in all: decent, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but if you have time to kill it's pretty good even if you're only watching for the last episode.

Nozo x Kimi: There are two kinds of anime, one which starts with a boom and then the standard falls and the other one starts with a usual way but greatly improves as the serize goes. Nozo x Kimi is the second kind of anime OVA.

Story: Two classmates live in two opposite apartment having their window facing each other. And their love, exhibitionism all happens like usual plot. The female lead is the person who blackmails the male lead and he have to do all the things, but still the anime has a amazing vibe and I totally love it. It is a ecchi anime ... and have some nude scene but as the serize progressed ecchiness decreased and story and the pace increased.

Art: The best part of NxK. There is no complain about the art at all. Its amazing, the way every thing was shown are really great.

Sound: Not great but not bad either, fair. Main two voice actor: good job.

Character: Only 3 episodes, so no character development. Kimio is your typical school boy who bumps with beautiful girls without any logical reason but he is tolerable. Nozomi character is the main attraction of NxK, literally she only knows Kimio, and she teases him, she blackmails him and she loves him a lot. She is not our typical tsundre loli but she is clam person, believes Kimio, tries everything to protect him, in a nutshell her character is great.

Enjoyment: After watching the 1st episode I was like meh, what is it? Another fan service? But after watching the other two, I was astonished. The incident may be abrupt but outcome, the scenes of Kimioi and Nozomi are very very beautiful. Yes, I enjoyed the OVA, particularly the last two episode.

Overall: I admit it is not a masterpiece but still I gave 10/10, it should not have such a low ranking, there are lot of useless anime having much better ranking. Don't drop it after watching only the first episode, try the rest two. Blackmail the guy you love with a sweet way, that's what I was looking for, after a long search I came across this OVA. Hope it will have a full length anime someday but for now I am going to read the manga. Who knows a cliche anime like this would be so good! Thanks of reading the review.

Ok, so that was a nice fanservice based OVA, and I'm glad that it's finish, good thing that studio Zexcs only limit it to a 3 ep OVA, cu'z the OVA has no sense in it anyways, so how do I rate this OVA? Here's how:

Story: Fair 6.

Frankly the story about a guy who is blackmailed by such girl as Nozomi maybe just a typical thing, but then again, since this OVA has a comedy element in it, I guess It would be fair enough that it should have such score. But, let's not forget that this anime rely on the ecchi element throughout, and ... that the comedy aspect always depend on the guy.


Art: Great 9.

The score is for the uncensored fanservice, that includes, panty shots, boob flashes and the butt exposure.

Sound: Fair 6.

I don't give a damned about the opening and closing theme, I just find the VA who did Kimio's voice nice, the rest of the cast sounded like milfs.


Character: Pathetic 1.

well, what can I say, the guy Kimio is the quintessential pathetic guy who doesn't know the blessing he has with Nozomi, I mean here you are, you got this bombshell bitch who would be too willing to let you bang her, but he doesn't, the guy is just some goody 2 shoes fool. There are also other girls present like oppai chan Makino who wouldn't mind if the guy dig his face on her boobs, Mirei who wouldn't hesitate to be the mistress and Michiru who wouldn't mind to have dirty sex with the guy, btw of all the girls she is the one that I mostly like to hate.


Enjoyment: Great 1.

As, I enjoy this anime's art, it is just natural that my enjoyment stem from the uncensored fanservice, and that's that.


Overall: Pathetic 1.

I may like the fanservice, but tbh, this OVA isn't much of any worth and so as the manga where I'm currently at chapter 2. So when watching this, just don't expect a lot, period.

|Edit: This is the same review as I did to the 1st episode but I've changed some things since I've finally watched the 2nd and the 3rd episode so you can see me comparing the 1st episode with the 2nd and the 3rd episodes. I've saw some people say the 2nd and the 3rd episodes are the savior of this OVA series but I didn't have much hope since the 1st episode wasn't that good so It took me a while for me to sit down and watch this because of my exams but I blame myself for my laziness since I'm the one who ... waited the whole summer to watch this. I'm sorry about that. Also I don't know how did I end up with silly numbers such as 4.33 and but whatever.|

Intro: I thought this was going to be horrible and pretty much unwatchable at first but It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (still better than the Nozoki Ana adaptation). Don't get me wrong though it is still average. I read the manga but I tried to reset my memories and only remember the anime so I'll not include anything from the manga and review just the anime.

Story (4.25-Decent): It was kinda episodic, there were no bonds between episodes and transition between parts were horribly done in the first episode. In the 2nd and the 3rd episode, they fixed this problem quite easily but what story can you expect from an ecchi show.

Art (4.33-Decent): "Contrast, have you ever heard of contrast? It was really fucked up with this anime. Background images were really good but the character drawings and animations were pretty shit. They should have hired artist from deviantART or something. Mangaka's drawings were great but instead, this garbage was presented to us, how brilliant." was what I said about the 1st episode. What about the 2nd and the 3rd episode? Were they any better or any worse? Character drawings were fixed and the animation was better (at least the contrast problem was fixed). It is still not too good but the quality is quite improved between the 1st and the 2nd episodes.

Sound(5.25-Mediocre): (From now on I'll divide Sound into 2 parts "Music" and "Voice Acting")
- Music (4.5-Decent): I was quite harsh on the 1st episode in terms of "Music" but my ears finally witnessed some soundtrack in the 2nd and the 3rd episodes. Actually I was quite impressed about soundtracks in the 2nd and the 3rd episodes, I would have give it a 6.5 but the soundtracks were so out of place it was unbelievable. I'm not comfortable about giving it a 4.5 but I have to because it didn't fit the theme of the show. There's no opening in this show but there is a closing which is just average.
-Voice Acting (6-Fair): I was surprised when they announced the VA cast because the voice actors are newly shining and I actually know most of them from previous series. They did a good job at voicing (even the side characters had good voices). Not much else I've got to say here.

Character(5-Mediocre): Characters were generic, nothing special with them. The character archetypes are as simple as the other ecchi show out there. Only difference may be how the 2 main characters (Nozomi and Kimio) act in the situations this show has. I'm neutral with characters, I don't love them but I don't hate them either.

Enjoyment(5-Mediocre): This is where I suck, the Enjoyment. I haven't been watching an ecchi show for a while. If I have watched this after finishing another ecchi anime, I would have fall asleep while watching the 1st episode even if how it gets better in the 2nd and the 3rd episode. The style is really similar to Nozoki Ana (suprise suprise) and To Love Ru.

Overall(4,766 which makes it 5 in MAL score):If you're looking for mindless, boring, just ecchi, you might like NxK, If you despise these kind of shows you can avoid it but my recommendation is for you to give it a try but don't be suprised if you didn't like it.It is still the mediocre ecchi show we have seen over the years but It doesn't take itself any serious whatsoever. Instead I can fully recommend you go read both Nozoki Ana and Nozo x Kimi manga.

Wow. This was just... awful. This is based on just the first episode that has been released. I will preface this though by saying that I am a gigantic fan of the Nozoki Ana manga (it is my favorite smut manga by far, and one of my favorite manga overall) so I was probably expecting a bit more from Nozo x Kimi as it comes from the same mangaka. I wasn't a big fan of the original Nozoki Ana OVA as it didn't really do the source enough justice imo so my expectations were relatively tempered for this. However, I still wasn't expecting the Nozo ... x Kimi OVA to be this terrible.

Story: 2/10
Characters: 2/10

You can get most of the story from the synopsis above and really, the creators speed through the intro so quickly that it is almost the same thing. I honestly think that some of the problems may stem from the manga as well. I haven't read it (I was considering starting it if what I saw in the OVA was ok) but the setup/premise, bland characters, overused high school setting and the stale "peeping" dynamic just don't seem very original or fresh especially when compared with Nozoki Ana and the mountain of other high school ecchi anime/manga available. It really isn't very risqué either. We honestly get only one scene with bare breasts and the rest are little panty or bra shots. There is nothing on the mature level of Nozoki Ana.

We are rushed through everything and don't really feel any of that "excitement" or those "cringeworthy" emotions that the characters keep alluding to. Perhaps the manga does a bit of a better job developing things with a much better pace but I honestly can't see the cookie cutter characters and high school setting being improved upon that much.

Art: 2/10

In just looking at the OVA, the animation quality was not good and felt quite cheap (so many of those weird bubble things). The manga from what I've seen has much better quality in regards to this. I also really did not like the art and character designs that were used here. They were very generic and didn't really look attractive to me at all especially compared to the designs used in Nozoki Ana (both the OVA and manga).

Sound: 3/10

The dialogue was absolutely terrible and that probably comes from the rushing and very bland story too. I at least thought that the VAs were pretty solid but they honestly weren't given much to work with. No OP and I don't think that I even waited to hear the rest of the ED.

Enjoyment: 2/10
Overall: 2/10

Maybe I'm comparing this too much to my beloved Nozoki Ana and being a bit too harsh on Nozo x Kimi. However, there would definitely be no chance that I would have watched this if I didn't know it was by the same mangaka. Even taken as just a standalone OVA, there is absolutely nothing that distinguishes this incredibly rushed OVA from other ecchi high school anime/manga out there. Don't expect too much here folks. Your time is better spent rewatching or rereading Nozoki Ana.

This could have been one of those series which you'd watch to just pass your time and you know have fun. ;)
While we have a cold but sexy female lead who is all hot for our male lead for no apparent reason as always, the plot in the OVA's mostly centers around fan service.
Except above all the cliche scenes and idiotic drama, we have an absolute trash of a male lead. Lacks resolve, totally immature and unlikable apart from being overly timid and a pervert. Nothing good about him and even worse than most cliche protagonists. I'd consider it bad, if not for this ... character but this show is torture.

In the end, this anime is only good if you want to see some boobs and panties in random shots.

When I started te first episode, I thought : Oh, a fan-service anime...

But despite being in only 3 episodes, the relationship between the 2 mains characters grow in a beautiful way, the last episode is really the best for me.

It's incredible to see how they can build a strong relationship in only 3 episodes !

The first one focus on giving self-esteem on one character, and even if it's really oriented fan-service, the intention is nice.

I've liked the fact that, even if there is some fan-service here and there, the story really tell something.

One more time, the 3rd episode is really the best as it show ... how much the relationship between the 2 mains characters is deeper than the protagonist think.

It started as a game where he was the victim, but, it seems that he found more than a simple game in the end.

A nice grow in a short duration !
