Assemble Insert

These two '80s OVAs are both comedies full of references to other anime series and tropes. They have common elements and share some staff, so they feel similar to each other. 

Tokumu Sentai Shinesman and Assemble Insert are two episode OVA's that are hilarious parodies of the superhero genres. The main characters have jobs by day, but when trouble calls they become superheros. The villians are also very memorable and silly. 

Old movie/ova with female leads possessing superhuman strength, lots of funny moments and some over the top fights. However Assemble insert is more of the parody of typical anime setting (A simple minded girl fighting for government instead of police) and making fun of advertisement in anime industry while PROJECT A-Ko is more of over the top action comedy with references of older works. 

Both light hearted and from the same era, both have memorable and enjoyable characters, and both are very well written. 

cute simple minded super strong main character that make you laugh at the good times and feel for them in the hard times. That goes for both of them.
