in both series, each of the female characters has their own story arcs. the arcs for the kono aozora female characters are split into 2 parts while in amagami, there are 4 parts, though unlike kono aozora wherein one arc is a continuation from the previous one, the amagami version is more of a what-if scenario if the protagonist chose that heroine

Both series are dramas about the lives of a group of school friends and the personal problems they have to face.

Very similar content...hard to say... just a similar love story

a guy and a group of girls living in a single dormitory.. plus shinobu maehara and shizu fujimura both ran away from home and moved in a dormitory due to a domestic turmoil. kono aozora is the drama version, and focuses on the male lead's brother-sister relationship to the female leads while love hina is more on comedy

Similarities: Both have the same drama, harem and romance genre. Both muchacho's (male lead) have childhood friends. Both anime has the same setting where the place that's dear to them are threated for abolition. Dissimilarities: One is set in a school club, while the other is set in a dormitory. One has a extra comedy genre, while the other relies greatly on the drama genre. In one anime the muchacho (male lead) doesn't have a male best bud, while the other has one. One have a sad ending while the other.......we'll find out after the anime is over.

Promises, promises, promises. Perhaps the greatest and the worst thing regarding the common promise of "I shall return" is that time is truly limited and humans will inevitably die of old age. Kono Aozora ni Yakusoku wo deals with the pain of having to lose friends, but it always has that sliver of hope that you will meet them again. In Island... well, it is much, much, more.

both series are set at an island somewhere off japan. the difference though is that the island setting of kono aozora is more urban as opposed to the primitive island in nagasarete

both series have the main male and female protagonists as childhood friends, both male protagonists makoto okano and wataru hoshino are good friends with the other female protagonists, and are both romance, drama and with a few humor and both protagonists makoto and wataru are friendly with all the female protagonists

They both explain the past life of each girl's life and their current situation.

Well for starters the same guy does the voice acting for the male lead. Male lead is in a wonderful harem situation-truely was jealous. Naoko Asakura is the student council president, and got a pretty similar personality to Tomoyo, both are extremely cute as well. Umi and Nagisa are alot alike as well. Wouldnt rate it as highly as clannad but was certainly worth the watch.

The story is actually similar, which the male lead met many different cute girls and coincidentally live with them.

Both are harems about a single guy and several girls, all students. the primary difference is that kono aozora is the drama and serious version, focusing on the past lives of the female characters, and the female characters all has a sibling relationship with the male lead(wataru) while mahoraba is the comic version, and all the female characters are seemingly attracted to the male lead (ryushi)
